Mixtape Swap Cult?

so if any of you remember the music thieves cult; you remember that it was totally awesome. its memory sparked this idea...

me and my friends like to swap mixtapes we make. its real dope to have new shit to spin in your car or whatever. how many people would be down for that here? all genres, whatever. mix up some mp3s and throw em in a file, give it a name, and share em with NS. i think this could be illin if we got it goin.

the point i was trying to make is that SoundCloud has a retarded amount of stuff free for download. sure, i linked to my own mix, but the point being that you can find all kinds of shit on there. i realize you're trying to get a music file-sharing cult going, but let's be honest- that probably won't last long. a cult that emphasizes mixing techniques and whatnot that utilizes other sites such as SoundCloud might fly, though. straight-up file-sharing is probably never going to work on here, but using legitimate third-party sites rarely attracts any negative attention.

when i first started recording, i made mention in a cult that i was intending to post shit up here. i was warned by a few mods that i had to be careful about how i posted stuff here, their concern being that they didn't want the file-sharing to take place on NS. it was made pretty clear to me that i could link to a legit site like SoundCloud, but anything that appeared sketchy would be deleted- they don't want to deal with the legal bullshit if NS is accused of being a file-sharing site.

i made that suggestion because i honestly don't think a file-sharing cult is ever going to happen... but if you do it right, you CAN create a cult that will be good for spreading music.
