Legit Ski shop in CO?

I've got my skis and my bindings but don't know where I should go to get it mounted. Only recently I found out Jibij Pro Shop had shut down.

Do you think I just can go to Christy Sports or Boulder Ski Deals and just ask for mounting?

If you have any specific instructions, make sure they are clearly stated and the guy you are talking to writes them down. I've had mine done at various CO places and usually have been pleased with the results.
 The one exception is when I told a place I wanted center mount, and they didnt do it.....took em back and they gave me "free tunes for life".....I should have just demanded new skis, but w/e. That was years ago.

Last pair I had mounted, I took to Colorado Freeride in  Breck, told them what I wanted, they did it. good price, quality job.

I've had no problem with Christy Sports.  They center mounted my last skis and did just fine.  As said previously make sure you are very clear with your instructions.  Write them down yourself and sign it and stick it to the ski if you want.  Throw some directional arrows on it if you want too, it's your skis do whatever you want to make sure it gets done right.  At least Christy sports has some decent techs who know what they are doing, i wouldn't go somewhere like sports authority though.

basically anywhere in summit county

just say "hey where's your ski tech" and start talking shop with the guy...if they're any sort of ski tech they'll discount you at least 50% on the spot and will feel honored that you want to watch and learn to do it yourself...they respect that kind of dedication

at least in my experience this has been the case

so should I go to a shop and ask if I can get my bindings

mounted 2cm back from true center or something?

I know graphics gets shifted alot so sometimes the centers are different, so I want to make sure

it gets mounted in the right place.

yup.  a lot of skis have markings on the side already giving you true center, recommended mount and a few measurements.  If not, they should measure to find the center and based on what you ask for take care of it.  As long as you are clear with your instructions it shouldn't be an issue.

For my last couple mounts I have just drawn a line on the skis with a sharpie of where I want the bindings centered.  This has seemed to work well, as opposed to telling them "2cm forward of boot center" or something.

Don't have em mounted at Christy's. Those kids are jokers. I had a friends who had her skis mounted there. DIN was suppose to be at 7 and they did that fine in 3/4 the DIN adjustments. on the heel piece they cranked it to a 12. 2 weeks later good by MCL, ACL and miniscus. FUCK CHRISTY'S...granted you should always look at what the shop does before you ride it.

Also, make sure you specify which centre: core centre of true centre, because it can make a lot of difference to the flex pattern if they mount behind the incorrect centre point.

mountain outlet in silverthorne is pretty legit.

but they probably have like 20 different techs and the one i had was a chill ass 20 something that was a skier too so he respected my stuff.  It may vary at that place.  Just find someone who knows what they're doing and seem chill.

Anywhere is good just talk to the Techs before and make sure they use the right jig and spacers. I have had good luck with Ski and golf and Alpen glow in golden.

the techs at christy's in fort collins are legit, i dunno about any other ones, the ones at park meadows seem sketchy. also outpost sunsport is good.

Nobody ever go to Colorado ski and golf EVER.  I brought a pair to get mounted there and they used screws that were too bog for some reason and screwed right through the ski.  They offered to get new ones but they were a rare ski and couldnt get them.

I went to Ski and Golf and told them I wanted center mounted. They forgot to start working on them so they kept them and extra day and they forgot to mount them center.

The Eskimo Ski Shop in South Denver http://www.eskimoshop.com/home.php is legit as hell.  Mom and pop shop that's been around for over 50 years.  That's too far of a haul from Boulder, but there is another ski shop in Wheat Ridge.  They have a great rep.  http://www.larsonsport.com/  .  Said it before, but the old school mom and pop ski shops have a tough time competing against the big box sporting good companies.  If they go out of business, good luck finding anyone who can tell you anything about equipment that isn't just a memorized description from a ski company web site.  Companies like these and Colorado Ski Shop in Mass. are way worth supporting and keeping around.

i found most shops in summit county and grand county to be suprisingly un-legit. it sounds strange bc its CO, but thats the way it is. CO freeride in breck is the only place id trust, and even still, liabilities and lawsuits that happen these days are making good shops like that get worse. i went to at least 10 ski shops in both countys looking to get my fks mounted, and the only place that knew what the fuck i was talking about was CO freeride, and even then they said ummmm ok, but this is the last pair we are mounting bc its not easy, and they dont make a jig for that width, blah blah blah, and this and that. shits weak.

Alpen Glow in Golden has an FKS jig and knows what they are doing for future reference.  A little pricey though.

I'm gona go ahead and second this, my dad and his buddies started ALpenglo over 20 years ago as a whitewater store, (it's since changed hands and locations around golden a couple times) But they've been doing skis for over 10, and the guys in there now know what's up.

Breck: go to Christy Sports and ask for Anthony, he knows his shit and will set you up for sure.

Denver: go to Christy Sports Cherry Creek and ask for David, also knows his shit and will dial you in.

Christy Sports is good.  Inustry standard price for a mount is typically 25-40 bucks.  Boulder Ski Deals a.k.a. Colorado Ski and Golf is $25 I think.  Christy Sports is $40.  Or you can bring in a 12 pack of a good beer and and there will be no charge.  Beer=good work typically.

Agreed, they are mounting up my FKS right now.  There is one salesman dude there who said "no, we can't do it", but if you talk to the legit tech guy he will try to work with anything

theres a shop in frisco near the A&W and across the street from antlers and the owner there is one of the most legit ski guys ive ever met. not only was he old race guru he also was bbq'ing while mounting my ar6's and hooked me up with some free chicken while i waited. if that doesent scream legit i dont know what does

nope my homie just hooked it up with beer at boulder ski deals and tried to get his shit center mounted and they didnt get it even close to center and they were dicks about the beer it was weird.

plus boulder ski deals profiles the fuck out of people. if you look like you are rich and from cali, you get pestered to fuck. if you look like you know anything at all about skiing(or are dressed g-d out to achieve this same effect) people wont give you the time of day cause they know you are broke.

fuck boulder ski deals.
