I know fit is the most important thing, but how do they compare in terms of stiffness and overall quality?

does anyone on here even have the transfer boot? i have xwave6's which are basically just like 1080s, maybe a hair softer, and they are really good in the park, and i don't usually overpower them on the hill, but i'm a big dude

I just put my Nordica Beast liners in the candy apple green 1080 shells and I'm in love! The 1080 boots rock but u definately need to upgrade the liner. They should have just put the profit custom liner in it and charged 100 bux more, cuz the promodel fits like shit.

right now i have rental head EZ on 4.0 boots (total n00bster material). However, they are considered pretty wide from what I've heard. Nevertheless, I still manage to get foot cramps in them, and I took out the liner, put my foot in, and there's at least a thumb's worth of space in the shell. are 1080 boots high volume?

wow. tough.
i've never skied the Transfer, to be honest, however I've heard nothing but good things about it.
Line hasn't made it for 2 years, but I know people are still riding them.
I'm riding the candy-apple green 1080 boots and....WOW. SO amazing. I used to get TERRRIBLE boot bang (is there anythign that ISN'T terrible about boot bang) but since this season with these boots...nothing.
how dope is that? i must say , the 1080 are nice boots.

yeah skndestroy, your getting cramps cause of your arch, get a good footbed in there like a superfeet footbed, they will support your arch and elimitnate cramping, you can buy them at most good ski shops for like $35, yeah those e-zon boots are pieces of shit, we have them at our shop and i can tell you from expierience that they blow, id try and get into a better boot if i were you, because they are sooo important

Thanks for the tip, I'll probably be going to get boots next saturday (40% off at my local ski shop, plus I got store credit =). On D-structure though, they've still got the line boot. Hmmm...

hey I ski with the EZ on's too. When the ski show comes backt o my town I'm going to try to pick up some old 1080's for a cheap price. Now my question is, can you adjust the bindings somehow where I won't need to redrill any holes?

yes, to an extent. Unless your foot grew by like 8 inches and you just want to get a boot thats a couple sizes smaller or larger you should be fine. Some bindings like my s8 10 have a range of like 8 sizes.

i havent really heard much bout the transfers but i would go with the 1080's cause you can trust salomon to make a grat boot where the transfer is like the first boot line has made and i dont think you will get the same quality as the 1080s

i love my nordica wave12s, the 1080s are nice boots, fit's the big winner though. I know loads of guys who love the 1080.

Transfers were made by raichle, but guess what! Raichle has gone out of buisness. Ive had them for a few years and i love them, only wish the buckles were better! Also the fit is completey different form the 1080s, salomon=pretty wide, lines=narrow

yeah, what he said. the buckles are a little weak, but if you take care of them, they are the sweetest boots ive ever ridden. they are deffinatly not your traditional ski boot, and your first couples days in them will prolly be disapointing. however, once you learn to ski in a boot that flexes that far forward (and backward!) they are amazing. it is so easy to shift your weight over your tails for manuals, and in owning them for three seasons, i have never gotten shin bang. Really an awsome boot, you just need to adjust to a boot that definatly doesnt fit the mold of the traditional ski boot. and i am sad to say that this was my last season for these puppies, and i now need to replace them.
Lets go skiing

this was my first season on my 1080's, most comfortable boot i've ever ridden. i haven't gotten shinbang once this season, and with my last boots, i had it almost every time i went skiing.
