Good Professional Camera & Cost of it???

So im doing a research project for my photo class and i need to know what a good camera for skiing would be and how much it would cost.... prly a professional type of camera.

How professional do you mean?  If you aren't experienced with DSLR's you probably don't want to drop 3000 bucks on a 5Dmkii...  You could pick up a Rebel for a few hundred bucks that will take really nice pictures, and will be a great stepping stone to more professional cameras in the future.  Obviously it's not what the real pro's are using, but in the right hands it is great.
