Replying to Ski Sonnet - By Tom Wallisch, and Andrew Holson
Fresh from WUHS creative writing class...
My hill is so big, it has metal lifts
The chairlift whisks me, to the top I go
The snow is SO deep, it blows into drifts
Sleds waiting at the bottom set to tow
The biggest jumps waiting, ready to slay
Getting inverted, always lost in air
The air beneath me, I do this all day
Never take breaks; I have no time to spare
With step and step, I hike quick to the top
As army soldiers set, ready for war
No signs showing, when I will finally stop
If I take a digger, there’s blood and gore
Hundreds of tries, to get the greatest shot
Check the LCD, to see what we got
