Poll: Do you turn down your DIN for the summer?

Just curious... Do you crank down the DIN on your bindings over the summer to keep the springs from wearing down? I recently heard this and have had all my bindings on the lowest DIN all summer. Anybody else do this?

I don't think it will have a noticeable impact on your springs/bindings.

i have experimented with this and there is a trend for decreased retention over time when you leave your bindings loaded. more so in the toe piece then heal peice due to the fact that most people don't store there skis with the heal peice engaged. it is a very small margin over the summer. but why not take the 2 minutes at the end of the season and crank them down. if you like your old equipes and fks's it wouldn't hurt to pro long  the life. i'm almost tired of offering binding advice on this website, you should really have your bindings checked at the begining of your season atleast. so cranking them down will only serve as a reminder that you should go to your local ski tech at the begining of the season and give them the once over. spiral fractures are no fun and end your season pretty quick. pre releases can be just as bad if not worse. g

if your din for winter is maxed out then lower them to middle range but if theyre middle dont lower them to bottom and if theyre bottom dont touch em.

16-18 tends to work.  Personally I use 20 din race bindings and crank them all the way up.  Sometimes I use something as a stopped too

crank your Duestch International Norm down

springs wear out, just like anything else. the more you stretch/compress a spring the less powerful it is.
