were way better in my opinion, everything after the year the original chronics came out have just kinda sucked compared to what they had before (except some powder skis eric pollard designed). the old ones skid better and had way sicker graphics, not to mention way more durability.
just thought id voice my opinion, live invaders are the worst the to happen to skiing since the "afterbang 270 now im the shit" trend

Wtf are you talking about?  I have seen no issue with durability, and I did not back when I had the last 1260's.  Other people will tell you the durability used to suck.  And the invader is probably the best thing to happen to freestyle skiing.  How many symmetrical park skis do you see now?  Where do you think they got the idea?  And don't say the original 1260 changed all that because that was way back around 01 or something like that.  And what is this "270 afterbang" shit you are talking about?

im going to have to agree with the op. original LINES are absolutely bombproof. my friend still has a pair of the chronics pictured above and they seem brand new. he also has a pair of the orange 1260 and his brother has the 153 afros and both of them have taken a beating since day one and are still going strong. i used the 1260 for almost all of last summer and they still dont have any edge cracks or anything. a different friend is still using his mike nick pro and im pretty sure this is his 5th or 6th season on them. the skis nowadays are sick dont get me wrong, but no where near as durable as they used to be.

you sir must be part of the 270 afterbang trend, you would know what im talking about if you had been with the park skiing scene longer. park skiing is no longer about having balls or doing crazy shit but trying to be stylie and doing small technical tricks that involve practice but no balls at all

i had the same chronics you posted but the mini version in a 133 best ski i ever had 5 full years and 1 topsheet chip.

I have to agree and dissagree with both sides. I have been riding on line skis since 2001 and all the skis I have had from them kick ass. They ride awsome and are bomb proof. I had mike nick pros that lasted me 3 seasons and are honestly in perfect condition and could still be rode, this will be my 4th season on my invaders and they are one of the sickest skis i have ever rode they ride so different from a traditional ski with its unique sidecut, which most of you probably know. They are the reason i got my elizabeths which is where the sidecut idea came from, because i wanted a fatter ski that rode similar to my invader. Most of my friends have line and they have been riding there models for a while and they are still holding up fine. I guess what im saying is old or new line kicks ass and continues to develop their product and push the sport every company is going to have small issues here and there but over all line is Sick.

i have to disagree ive had a pair of 06 prophets and the skis de-edged in the front and back of both skis. this led to de-lam and line wouldnot cove this under warrenty. i have a pair of last years invaders and only problem is a small tiny edge crack which isnt noticable at all. i think durability has gotten better but i think it all comes down to personal experience

dude are you telling me that stuff like double corks or switch double rodeos etc take no balls cause that shit goes down in the park every day and if the element of steeze was not brought to skiing then i would probably be a snowboarder

Ok I still don't know what you mean by 270 afterbang.  Do you mean doing a 270 then afterbang?  I don't afterbang.  I watch my friends try to afterbang everything they do and it is the ugliest thing I have ever seeen because it is so forced.  I have "tree bang" in my comments because my profile picture used to be of me doing a tree stall on my trampoline.  Look at my pictures, it is not banged, it was a joke.  I don't try to be stylie, I just try to have fun.  I don't give a shit if my arms are all over the place, they are.  I don't knwo why you posted all my profile shit, wow I landed 1 7 in my life, I consider that one time to be my best.  I was in no way stylie. 

And I never said that Line's are more durable now.  I said back when I had the 04 1260's, I put them through more shit than I put my new Line's through and never had any durabiity issues.  Everyone used to bitch and complain about durability but I never experienced it.  I do like teh old graffics, but I also liek the new graffics.  I'm gonna have to say that the 08 Chronics have the best chronic graffic ever, but that is just my opinion.  Believe me, there is nothing better than having an old pair of twin tips with sick old graffics because you never see them anymore.

sick! i just bought some of those chroniscs cuz i needed a cheap park ski. i was trying to sell them because i thought they were to heavy but now that everyone is saying they are "bomb proof" im stoked!

i think the after bangs are a really cool inovative idea i picked up a pair and im not 100% there gunna hold up to the hype but idont know wtf youre talking about when you say line skis have been getting worse they are the 1 single company i know that is allways trying the hardest to push the envelope with their technology and graphics are really just a matter of opinion im sure there is plenty of people out there who love the new ones and hate the old ones

I would say that since the elizabeth came out line has stepped up to the A-list of ski manufacturers. They had the vision and the foresight to see where skis were going and they committed to it. Their skis are as quality as any I've ridden. Props to line for killing it.

The last cap chronic was probably the single best chronic.  Best graphic, bulletproof cap, thick edges/base.  Mine are on their 4th or so mount and still going strong.

Bullshit. I had the pirate ship Skogens from 00/01 and they literally fell apart after 3 weeks use, delam the whole side on one ski. And they didn't warranty. Line's durability is good now that they're being made in China.

wasnt that one of the first few years they started making real skis instead of skiblades? may have been getting things figured out but i dont think they use nearly as nice of materials now as before "theyre being made in china"
