Speech on ns

for my college intro to pub speaking class i just gave one on skis. the actual ski. wrote out my intro and closing. then brought in my Bents, Ar6s and Atomic SL skis. then proceeded to give a short info on each ski, for what, and where each ski was used. and i accompanied the skis with a PP of me skiing on each ski. so they knew what skiing even looked like. (relate it to the Xgames) everyone knows what shaun White or Jake Brown do at the xgames. otherwise i had the class lost at the idea of going backwards on skis.

hahhahaahahahah i have to write a 5-7 minute persuasive speech. I wanted to do it on skiing too, so i guess i need some ideas too.

Make sure its engaging and not just a dry history or something like that... maybe focus on a noteable skier... (Wallisch, Dumont, McConkey, Hall) and how they came to be what they are in the sport and if your allowed props, include pics. You could also contrast between skiing and another extreme sport and what it takes to make it (Hall vs White or Warren Miller vs Hawk). Let us know what you come up with!

o yeah, to end your speech use warren millers "if you dont go skiing this year, you will be one year older when you do" quote. give him credit, and use it. ended my speech nicely.

yeah true im thinking i want to try to contrast it to another sport in some way.. esp as far as the community backing it and how it differs with skiing largely bc of things like ns
