LIB TECH

i am looking to buy a pair of lib techs this year. for the last two years i have been rocking the Jon Olsson pro model and the teneighty. i am wondering if anyone has had the chance to ski the lib techs and if so whats your opinion on them. i am looking at gettingthe NAS Jib alpine.    whats it like on groomers, park, rails, jumps, powder?

i have a pair of the 06/07 Park NAS. i like them and they can take a beating. expect the same type of topsheet damage as you would see on most of the newer skis (armada for example.) as for the magne traction......you can kind of feel it on hard pack and groomers. i ride with a bunch of snowboarders and they all swear by libtech for the quality.

do you find for carving it can cause problems and at first is kind of a new and odd feeling or do you get used to it right away?

you get used to it fast. like one full day fast. you feel the magne traction but its not overbearing. I like it and would recommend them to someone. i use them all over the mountain.

actually mine are a little on the stiff side. i also have 07/08 AR6's so im comparing them to that. but i was talking to some kid on the lift last year who had the new park series NAS and he said they werent so bad.

the edges arent straight. they are somehwhat wavy. check out the lib tech website.

its kind of hard to see in a picture because its not dramatic otherwise i would post one. but its supposed to give it more surface to edge contact for a better grip.

well apparently theyre making good skis that dont blow apart after five days, which is more than we can say for some of the core companies in the sport

i'm wondering this too.
i see them at evo all the time and the tips and tails have almost no rise, it's kind of ridiculous.

I think their jib-nas skis this year have slight tip and tail rocker like armadas alphas...

IMO, park skis should have low profile tips.  The normal tip/tail rise and length is just wasting part of the ski.  The shorter tips give you more effective edge, so if you wanted to you could get a shorter length ski and have the effective edge of a longer ski with normal stupid tip shape.

I've been on Lib for 2 years now and I have to say they're amazing. They spin like no body's business. stiff enough that you won't wash out if your in the back seat a little on big jumps. A little hard to butter but you get use to it. the MTX or magne traction you won't notice until you grind your edges off and still can hold an edge in the ice and snow. I do agree with someone else in the thread that the edges are a little weak but won't start cracking really until your 50th-60th day on them, but what the hell it's a park ski. What is Lib doing for the industry? They're keeping the money in america. All Nas are produced in Washington state. Also they're trying to be the most ECO buy using soy-bean top sheets, dead wood for cores, and the least damaging apoxy in the industry. i thought the alphas had a larger rocker?

LIB does carry skis that have a early rise, i just cant recall which ones!
