hey i am 5'4" and 120 pounds and i am looking for some powder skis

i was looking at the

Hellbents

S7

which one should i get thanks for the help

i agree that the s7s are better but also check out the ep pros from line and the prophet series

Im the same size as you, and i have 169 Bents. they kill it in pow, are super playful, and overall a sick ski. My friends also the same size and he has 175 JJs. Hes in love with them-theyre all he talks about. im sure hed be more than happy to give you full run down on them, as would i with the hellbents. pPM samgillin if you want one for the JJs.

Yeah the jj's and s7's are pretty similar. basically you get the rossi name a little more rocker and you will pay like 300 hundred bucks more. All I know is that the jj's are amazing everywhere. s7 is more forward oriented, jj is more jibby feeling, it's whatever feel you prefer

What do you ski? Is this a park/pow/all-mountain ski? Park all mountain and powder but more park then anything
Where do you ski? What resort? East/West? How much snow/year? washington state not to much snow but i am going to utah for two weeks and going pow skiing at rettalck lodge
What have you been looking at? Have you done any research? i ahve narrowed it down to JJ and S7 i have been researching since the end of last year and i just don't know what i want.... i would like a ski that is for powder and will still do ok on groomers and crud that is why i have these skis in mind. but i have heard the JJ is built more for spinning and tricks switch i really just want a ski that is for ripping pow.
What skis did/do you have? What do you like/not like about them? my skis are to small and i am getting new ones... and a 2 ski quiver

i like how the S7 has more rocker also

it doesnt sound like you need any rocker at all, in fact id probably steer you away from it personally, considering the fact that you designate yourself as primarily a park skier overall and just need a powder ski for utah. Id go with the JJ over the S7, but both of those are really kind of overkill dude...seriously...take a look at like an obsethed or an elizabeth, little bit narrower..less ski underneath to rotate in the park

I know that you've already narrowed down your choices, but I almost want to recommend ObSETHeds. Probably one of the most versatile skis on the market today. Plenty of rocker for powder, plenty of camber for groomers.

at 5'4 and 120 at 16 i guess you are still growing, I think it would help us make a better long term recommendation (assuming these skis will be used more than a year) if we knew how tall you were likely to end up. In other words how tall are you expected to grow to be?
My instinctive recommendation for you is Surface One Lifes in a 179.

I agree with the support ON3P part. Awesome company, innovative products, but if he has a park ski i'd be inclined to say go fatter. Less overlap, so if its a pow day u bring the fatties if not ski the PC's. The billy goat is the ON3P equivalent to JJ/S7 type skis.

Or if your a real man get some 191 Great Scotts or 191 Wrenegade =D

i agree that if you are just going on vacation you shouldnt get a full rocker ski. even something with a small amount of rocker ( like the obsethed ) is sketchy as shit on hard snow / crud. think about it man, rocker removes part of your ski from the hardpack, so you end up skiing on like, a 160 when your ski measures 180. I'd look at the Nordica Zero, no camber at all, so it rides well on hardpack, is plenty wide, and with no camber floats awesome in pow (i know its not gangstar cool, but its an awesome ski.)  believe it or not, people dont *need* rocker. people have been skiing for years without it. all it does is make your dedicated powder ski ride better in pow. totally devestates hard pack control. keep looking around man, would just hate to see you make a decision you'll regret when you get back home.

Firstly while the what you say about 'needing' rocker is true, I don't agree with what you say about it totally devastating hardpack performance. Yes it obviously has an effect but I would say a rockered ski with decent edges turns way better than a park ski that is toast from skiing rails.
Secondly as part of a two ski quiver I would definitely go for a rockered ski. He already has pipe cleaners for park and so I doubt he'd regret a rockered ski as his second pair. Of your two choices i'd get 175 JJs unless you expect to be 5'9 in a years time, in which case I'd get 185s. They'll be a big ski to handle this year but incredible in pow and they'll last longer if you go bigger. Same goes for the Surface One life which i'd recommend. 179 if you won't grow past 5'9. 189 (actually more like 186) if you will grow to be tall soon.

Especially because the Northwest does get powder... more than what this thread is suggesting. And a rockered ski would help one float over the Cascade Concrete. haha

My recommendation stands: K2 ObSETHed.
