Warren Miller Backs Level 1 against WME

On Setpember 25, Warren Miller, the person, and his personal company, Warren Miller Company, put himself in the mix as a “third party intervenor” in Warren Miller Entertainment’s lawsuit against Level 1 Productions. Filing to be a third party intervenor means that Warren Miller has aligned himself and his company with Level 1 to help them fight the case, while also ensuring that Warren Miller’s interests are protected in the case.

That's really admirable that he's doing it like this. He could have quietly helped out Level 1 or even just done nothing. No--he goes in heavy and joins the fight publicly.

“I consider Josh my friend and I have been very impressed with his efforts as a film maker, and more so as a human being. He is a very nice young man, and I was honored to oblige his request to participate in Refresh. I have been invigorated by working with his group, whose passion for skiing matches my own.

WME made clear to me long ago that they did not want me involved in their films – so I’ve essentially cut all of my ties to them. I have a legal and moral right to freely use my name, voice, and likeness as I choose. By suing Josh, I feel that WME is challenging my rights as a person and public figure. I will not stand by and let a young, talented artist like Josh get shoved around by a group that, in my opinion, has no genuine regard for the fans.”

Well, since Warren made it clear that he has no ties with WME, then WME doesn't stand a chance in this lawsuit.

I admit I didn't searchbar since this was posted on FB by Freeskier minutes ago but I also have to point out that I probably wouldn't have found it even if I did, especially with the searchbar we have now

That's awesome. Warren Miller truly "gets" this industry. Glad to see that he sympathizes with Berman, L1P, Newschoolers and the ski industry as a whole.

Here's to hoping that this brings down WME once and for all. That's not to say their work when Warren was there wasn't great, but the ski industry is too small a company focused so much on the money and not on the skiing.

Oh don't worry, we won't.
I get your point about the searchbar, but that wouldn't come up in the advanced search bar which is what people use.  And the normal search bar is too shitty to even consider.
