I clicked on the link for the full story and found this: "which [WME] employes about 1,000 people" and "Level 1 has one employee and annual net revenues of less than $100,000." If that doesn't put this in scope for you...

Through all of this I have come to the realization that Warren Miller is the biggest boss ever and worthy of my respect more than ever. Fuck he is awesome. WME should all die for carrying and misrepresenting the name of one so great.

He is a very nice young man, and I was honored to oblige his request to participate in Refresh. I have been invigorated by working with his group, whose passion for skiing matches my own.

WME made clear to me long ago that they did not want me involved in their films – so I’ve essentially cut all of my ties to them. I have a legal and moral right to freely use my name, voice, and likeness as I choose. By suing Josh, I feel that WME is challenging my rights as a person and public figure. I will not stand by and let a young, talented artist like Josh get shoved around by a group that, in my opinion, has no genuine regard for the fans.”

Josh Berman then offered this comment:Josh Berman
“Since the lawsuit was filed, the support from every level of the ski industry has been overwhelming. Skiing as a whole is a global but tight-knit community, and it’s sincerely flattering to see so many people rallying behind our cause. To have Warren personally file a motion to intervene is a tremendous vote of confidence—it means a lot to me personally to have his support.”

WME has totally lost sight of its founders' (warren miller) vision and passion for skiing. level 1 shares the same views as warren, and thats is clearly seen here. WME is ruining warren's reputation as a skiing icon, and trying to destroy a company that stands for everything it used to stand for. WME turned into a bunch of corporate bitches the minute Warren himself walked out the door. I mean honstly for the man himself to totally disown his old company, isnt that saying something??

i love Josh Berman's movies. and if WME wins, the court will force Josh Berman to:

  1. Stop Level 1 from showing, selling or marketing the movie. (Refresh)
  2. Stop Level 1 from using the name Warren Miller or anything “confusingly similar.”
  3. Force Level 1 to destroy all copies of Refresh and all materials related to it.
  4. Investigate into how much profit Level 1 has gained “resulting from its acts of trademark infringement.”

    5. 5. Force Level 1 to pay WME damages incurred by its brand, and legal fees spent to sue, with interest.

and that shit isnt gonna fly.

I met Warren Miller at Big Sky about 9 years ago. Guy is awesome, and I loved the movie "Ski Time." Classic film in the formative days of my youth.

Honestly, WME doesn't really have a case any more. You can't contract away human rights which is essentially what there trying to do. Kudos to Warren for stepping up.

warren is a hero, and the starter of all modern ski and snowboard videos. him supporting level 1 shows alot about level 1 and their love of skiing, because you know warren wouldnt back anything other than that. i really hope level 1 pulls threw strong
