A hard decision...

Ok I might as well start a thread on it since its the only thing i've been thinking about for the past week. Next year I was supposed to move to the other part of the island (nf) to go to school and finish my degrees. I would be there for the next 4 years, away from all the goodd skiing and mountains and stuff i love. I 've been seriously thnking about putting it on hold and moving out west to sk/work/party/bike/enjoy life for a year or few depending on how things go. I've been looking for appartments and I think I may have found something that made my decision for me.http://members.shaw.ca/sorokin/sparwood.html 3bdrm appartment for $500 a month, 20min drive from fernie. Damn that just made a hard decision even harder. What kind of jobs can I expect out west? Night time dishwashing and the such? How hard would it be to get a job at fernie with qualifications as a freestyle coach? I don't want to throw away my life but I have to get the most out of my body while im young..

In the young mind-state of a 16 year old..go ski and take a break one more year. Take the break you might be only able to get this one time, for a long time. Either that, or try and accomodate getting your degrees closer to skiing..? If its possible that is. But anyways, skiing is the shit, so thats where I'd be at. All I know is if I fail in life or something, I'm gonna take my skis, get a shitty job somewhere, and become a ski bum. (This is failing in life after college that is..).

the thing is im doing pretty good in collage and i enjoy the degrees that im doing. I'm worried that if i go away i wont be able to come back and end up in a dead end job for the rest of my life...

I am considerate of both decisions you could make, and while taking off a year or however long and skiing and partying while making money at a job would be fun as hell, I can't say it would be completely worth it. I would continue your studies man, plus who is to say that you won't be able to ski at all if you do decide to continue your schooling, and also who says you won't be able to have as much fun skiing in four years as you would now.

d00d, there are tons of schools near hills. i am sure you can do both and be a complete person.

why not transfer to a school closer to some mountains?

if not, then honestly i would say take a year off, im in college right now, if you are in between majors, then lots of people take breaks.

you can go back to school when you are ready to go back, its not like they will be like no sorry, you took a year off, you can never finish this degree!
