Traffic court?

I received my 3rd speeding ticket in July and now I have court today at 1:15pm. Colorado state law says that if a minor receives more than 5 points in a 12 month period then they automatically get their license suspended.

I'm not sure how many points I have but I'm pretty sure I'm close to 5 if not at 5 with this ticket.

Anything I can say to maybe get out of getting my license suspended. I was going to tell the judge that I am getting a job up at a local ski resort (which is true) this winter and won't be able to get there if I have no license, also I won't be able to get to school. If he still won't go for it I figured I'd bring up the fact that if I can't drive anymore then my girl friend will dump me and I won't get anymore pussy for awhile. I'll only pull that one out if shit gets tough.

Really though, anything I might be able to say to maybe change his mind of taking my license?

Typically I try to avoid using the word pussy in court, but that's just me.

Just be as respectful as possible, that shit normally works for me.

Yea your pretty much fucked. When dealing with traffic tickets you need to be proactive. Dont just wait for the court date to come. You should have contacted the DA or ADA at that court house and spoke with him.

Unfortunately I am not familiar with Colorado state law, I do know that in NY if your license is suspended you can apply for a conditional license so you can drive to and form work and school. Chance are tho if you dont have a job at this moment, and are in highschool, the judge wont go for it. He will most likely think your lying about the job, and tell you to take the bus or have your parents drive you to school. Sorry bro. I went through similiar shit when I forst got my license too, it sucks but it passes.


I pray your fucking jokin about using pussy as a ploy to keep your license. most likely the judge will see that as you being disrespectful and not taking the case seriously and give you a more hefty punishment. just be respectful, and as dumb as it sound WEAR DRESS SLACKS A NICE SHIRT AND A TIE. dont look like a fuck up in his eyes.

I'm not 100% familiar with CO traffic laws, but in a lot of states you can generally make a plea deal for some form of court supervision. It's basically like the "probation" of traffic court. You'll probably end up with a larger fine if it's granted, but at least you'll still have your license.

If you don't have a lawyer, bring a parent with you. Dress very nice. Get there early and talk to the DA ahead of time. Good luck.

CO yeah.... you should have done traffic school to remove some of the points. Contact your insurance company about that.

How soon do you turn 18? Cause a license suspension will also raise your insurance about 70% regardless of what it is for and it stays on your record for a few years. So if you are 16, not that big of a deal... 17 about to be 18, it will be very expensive for a year or 2 after it gets reinstated.

best thing to do though, see about taking a driver safety course. I did it when I was 17 for cheaper insurance.

The job thing should cut it. If it's going to unfairly disadvantage you and make the fines harder to pay then hopefully you can work something out. Of course the better plan would be to stop fucking up and not get the damn points on your license.
