Just got asked to go on a trip to peak n peak on January 15-18. Just wondering if their park was any good. And is there night skiing?

the park is ok i guess...no big jumps but they stepped it up on the rails last year....and they have night skiing until 10 i think.

I heard rumor that last season they had a 60 footer so you might be in luck for a decent park.

go. great snow, especially for east coast.
the parks are actually half decent. the 540 and 720 parks are both long, and you'll get about 4-6 hits on any given run.
you probably won't find another park skier, with the exception of my friend alex and possibly myself if i decide to go up with him

its def fun for east coast/ mw skiing, the 540 and 720 parks are pretty fun, they set it up nice. but if you get a chance 7springs is much more fun.

i respectfully disagree. because springs is my home mountain, i get to see it on a weekly basis. a decent jump is never built until late january, the alley park is full of gapers, santa's beard is for 5 year olds, and north park continues to disappoint.
you might get lucky and come here on a good day, but if you are an hour or 2 further from the peak than you are from springs, make the drive and go to peak

ahahahhahahahahahah noooooo.  maybe I missed it but the jumps were shitty piles of snow.  not really cheesewedge jumps.  certainly not 45 feet (maybe i'm wrong).

The rails were basically thrown on the hill.

The peek has a LOT of problems with park management and they almost went bankrupt.  I'm surprised they're opening this year.

It's always fun when I go there, but the park is just pretty random all together.  Holiday Valley is far better, but since you're going on a trip I'd say just go and it'll be fun either way.

i dunno man, maybe you went on a bad day or something but everytime i go to springs (pretty often) their park is tons of fun and well put together. it also depends on who you ride with though.

im from cleveland but im living in kansas city for a bit right now so peek is about 1 1/2 hrs away and springs is like 2 1/2 hrs and i would much rather make the drive out to PA. but thats just me. and btw im not trying to make it seem like im bashing peek, so no hard feelings

they get a crazy amount of snow there! great place for east coast get all the lake effect snow they can get 20in in one day (i drove up and night skiied after a 18 in storm and it was Siiiick. the mt itself is really no challenge but fun tree skiing when theres powder.  the parks are not very well kept up.  they do have good rails and jibs in the 540 and 720 parks but the jump are just terrible yet big in the 720 flatter landing and takoffs are sketchy at best....been there a few times the past two seasons

springs is my home mountain. i went up literally every weekend except for the week i was in whistler. it's not terrible, but they just frustrate the hell out of me and everyone else who rides there

Holiday Valley is the shit(not really) but they had some decent jumps towards jan-feb. At this years spring session the park was so sick though.

my bad i misread, thought you said peek was. its true that there are alot of crowds in the park, but if they arent hitting anything just snake your way around them. last time i was there i almost landed on a little kid that was skiing across the landing of a jump. needless to say, i lost my head on her parents for being dumbfucks and letting her ride through an area that should be off limits to people of her skill level

the alley is really the only park with bad gaper problems, but it sucks anyway so i tend to stay out of it.

don't get me wrong, i love my mountain and will always have a soft spot for 7 springs, but the reason i am bashing it so much is because year after year they promise us a ton of sick new features, or a new park, or something crazy that gets everyone's hopes up. and year after year they crush our dreams by giving us a shitty new dance floor box, or shitty new park in the most gaper-infested spot on the mountain (the alley), or just do nothing.
