How many people on here's favorite sport isn't skiing?

You don't need to absolutely love skiing as your favorite sport to be a member of NS, so just out of curiosity, how many people like participating in other sports more than skiing, such as baseball or basketball?

i dont really call skiing a sport. more of an activity. but i still like it wasy more than lacrosse. so relaxed and fun.

its about a 10 right now, course depending though. my home course i can count the number of times i didnt go below 80 this summer on 1 hand, but im at FGCU in florida for the PGM program, ad the courses down here are kicking my ass haha, i haven't broken 80 in the 10ish times ive played down here.

football. i just put so much more into it and it really takes over. plus when your in the heat of a game on a friday night under the lights, theres nothing else in the world like it.

ya seriously man. wherever i move there has to be good skiing, all my financial decisions revolve around having enough cash to buy the ski shit i want, and even my future in life is based on me wanting to ski as much as possible

its a toos up between skiing and soccer.  when the season is in i love them both the same.  during the winter i come home from skiing around 5 and im off to play 2.5 non-stop hours of soccer at 8.  i can never get enough  of either.

Skiing (park that is) is a sport in the same way skateboarding is, meaning that it isn't really a sport, and we should be happy about that. I like to think about it more like an art (not to sound pretentious) because you get to do tricks your way, and no one can tell you you can't. People are respected for doing things differently, and being amazing at it the same way they would be in an art, but a sport as well. So it's tricky and hard to explain, but for me, I think it's somewhere in between the two. Honestly, we should be happy that skiing isn't a sport in the sense that say soccer or football is because that would take the element of expression, creativity, and pure fun out of it.

I think PETER had some good points above. Skiing isn't really a sport, more of a passion.  Yes, it can be made into a competition, but the nature of it is to go out and have fun completely separate from everyone else.  Sports like basketball, football, soccer, etc, are completely contigent on being better than someone else in order to have fun or be "successful" at it.  So many people are this site will probably be up in arms that their favorite thing to do isn't a sport, but get over it.  Just a definition.  It is still fun.  That being said, I chose basketball season over skiing every year until I was out of high school, so I guess I would have to say basketball.  I would have done the same for lacrosse or soccer, so I guess both of those, too.

But now skiing is my favorite thing to do, bar-none.

i would kill to be able to put on football pads and play again.  Baseball is super fun and the best summer sport to play.  But skiing is something that gets me stoked from the ride to the mountain, to the ride home.  thats why i love it, there are no unfun anxiety filled parts.  But i would kill to be able to play football again.
