Best wine under $39

So I love wine, I have not had it in forever, I am enjoying it tonight with my steak, whats your favorite wine under $39 bucks? I would have to say mines Yellow Tail.

Ruffino Chianti. but if your eating steak cabernet is the way to go! brings out the flavors in the marinade.i dont care for australian wines so much but to each his own.

(i worked in a small wine shop while in college. best job ever. got to know the product! ha)

yeah it was cool. small family owned shop. we always drank at night. i had to know what to reccomend to the customers!!  and the holiday parties......forget it.

but anyway enjoy ur steak. and next time try a red with steak and save the white wine for seafood! CHEERS!

yeah i went down to visit my friends at james madison, they are in a frat there (im not the frat type honestly i really find it annoying as fuck) but the party was nuts, 700 kids 12 kegs like 15 handles, and in the dance room, they had bags of franzia hanging from the ceiling, they were gone within 20-30 minutes

I don't mind bearfoot, which is only like $10 I don't think they make red, but I like white so I don't care.
another pretty good one is Toasted Head i have no idea how much it is though.

But why are you asking this on NS, (most ppl. on here are like 16) especially if you drink $40 bottles of wine.

I live on  a vineyard! so check my wine out http://phelpscreekvineyards.com, and were expanding pretty rapidly to wine shops in most major cities.

btw im 13. my parents let me drink, when theyre around. i dont get drunk and i think beer taster like crap.

i would recommend a hawkes bay, chenin blanc,  under 40, but i dont think you live in nz so its probably not that easy to find.

ForestVille Merlot (CA) - pretty cheap & tastes wonderful.

word. Funny OP your favorite wine under 40 bucks only costs 7. Any wine will do, whatever is on sale for 4 dollars or less is usually what I get, or a bag of wine to float in the hot tub with.

The other day I heard someone say cheap red wine is good with coca cola, I'm a bit skeptical.

Under $39? Shit ... there's a ton of excellent wine to be had for under $20. For around $8, I can't get enough of Baron Phillipe de Rothschild Vin de Pays d'Oc Cabernet Sauvignon. I've only had the 2007 but imagine the older vintages will be that much better. Best bang for your buck is gonna be Chile. Should also be able to find some '03 and '05 wines from Medoc in the $25-35 range that will be worth every penny.

Hahaha, Yellow Tail? You can't be serious. First of all, you can get a great bottle of wine for less than $15, you just have to know what to look for. Yellow Tail is the Coors Light of wine, my friend (my opinion, of course). Do some research. =)

Try some Red Truck. I think its about $7 and absolutely delicious.

You can find A TON of great wines for less than $15 for sure.

You should give Molly Dooker 2 left feet a try. Its a pretty good shiraz from Aus. and runs about 20 bucks a bottle. If you really like wine though and want to spend maybe 8 bucks over your limit (I think its about 47 dollars) get the Blue eyed boy shiraz also from Molly Dooker, its awesome. For a good full bodied cab too try Januik 2006 cab from the Walla Walla vineyards, a lot better than the Columbia Valley. If you are more in to whites though, you should give Cakebread a try, they make some of the best whites Ive ever had.

People actually buy wine that is over $15? My parents have a price limit of about $10, $12 if it is something they really want.  All the wine they drink is good.  even though my dad drinks Black Box haha.

There are plenty of wines over $15 that are worth the higher price ... all depends on how much you want to splurge. Of course, it's more fun to experiment with the cheaper wines in attempting to find the steals.

Thinking more about my favorite wines, the 2005 Tenuta di Trinoro Le Cupole Super Tuscan is at the top; over the years, I've probably been through 5 or 6 cases of it. What I love most about it, besides being complex yet quite smooth, is that the palate changes drastically every 10 or so minutes after opening.

My dad's a wine freak, he's got a huge cellar.
That being said, I've had some really great wines, and I still prefer a great beer to a good wine.

I love Super Tuscan and Super Tuscan style wines. Just starting to get into some Mourvedre's as well. If you havent tried one I would rec. that you do if you are a fan of Super T's, Syrah's and any other big reds.
