OK...so my neighbor is convinced she's in love b/c the guy she's going out w/ said he loved her..here's teh catch...they're 12. i don't think that's necesasrily too young to be in love, but too young to know if u r or not. at 12, u have no life experince and have nothing if not very little to compare it to. i've had friends, who 3 yrs ago at 15 & 16, didn't know if tehy were in love or not even though their boyfriends said 'i love u' to them.

what do u guys think?

yep, too young. I actually don't believe that two people can fall in love really quickly either. I thik it takes about a year (give or take) to really know a person well enough to know that you're in love.

This is kinda funny, but a while ago Ilearned that romeo and juliet were only 13 or 14 when they fell in love, and they were willing to die for each other. I'm not really sure where i stand on the issue but here's some evidence that young love does exist:

even though romeo and juliet was a story, back then it was kind of normal to do that. if two 12 year olds loved each other, it would be like two 22 year olds loving each other now a days. be cause back then you only lived til you were like 50 or 60, if you were lucky, so kids grew up faster.

now though, if your 12 and in love, your saying it because it was said on pokemon or something

romeo and juliet can't be used as an example, becasue its just a story. 12 year olds are not mature enough and don't have the capacity to love today, and they didn't have the maturity or capacity to love back then either. mariages weren't based on love back then, they were arranged, for political or financial reasons by the parents, no emotions involved. the girl was expected to have alot of kids, preferably a boy, and the man was supposed to do well and uphold the family name. love wasn't even a factor.

^truth. what i dont get though is how the other kid saying i love makes the girl think that she is the one in love. if that were the case wouldnt she have had been the one to say i love you? just because someone tells you they love doesnt ever mean that you are in love. but then again she is 12 and that basically explains everything.
