To whom it may concern,
I may not know all of the details of the lawsuit that Warren Miller Entertainment (WME) has thrown at Josh Berman (Level 1 Productions) but I do know that it is a direct attack on SKIING!
Level 1 has been making ski movies for 10 years and they are at the forefront of the sport; making movies that not only appeal to the youth and the new skiing movement but also transcend to all age groups of skiers and even non-skiers. Everyone that sees a Level 1 movie can appreciate something, whether it is the athletics on display or the cinematography; both are world class. Even Warren Miller himself has chosen Level 1 as a more appropriate outlet than WME.
To say that Level 1 is causing "irreparable damage" to WME is beyond an outlandish statement. WME is causing this damage to their own name by attacking a company that has given so much to the skiing community. I'm not denying that WME has given to the skiing community in the past but this lawsuit proves that they have lost touch with the goals and ideals that a company in this industry should have.
I know for a fact Level 1 did not promote the involvement of Warren Miller in their film "Refresh" at all, nor did they ever claim to be associated with WME in any way. I am an athlete appearing in their film and I had no idea about Warren Miller's involvement until the premier (I was not in attendance but have heard from online media).
I hope you can reconsider this lawsuit and we (the skiing community) can get back out there on the slopes and continue doing what we love!
Sincerely,
Michael Riddle
