Calling all drummers...

so as you may know from guitar if you played it much, costs can vary tons. a decent kit though, not top of the line by any means, but a solid kit would run you between 1 and 2 grand on average i would say. as for your guitar it's pretty hard to say if you'll be able to pull in over a grand for it even if thats what it originally cost. a lot of it depends on the make and model as well as condition and where you sell it.

For the kit it's self for what you're looking for would be in between 1 and 2 grand. I have a Pearl Vision kit and it was about $ 1 300 i think. Then the other main cost is cymbals. Those can range from $120 for a entry level ride, or like $500 plus for a quality ride.

i have a crappy pacific that was 500$ at the time i've had for almost 9 years now and i've had no problems and it sounds okay, just add your own cymbals and it will be aight, used cymbals work great and you can still get good quality cymbals when you buy used. i got a zildjian avedis crash which sounds amazing, a zildjian K ride, a zildjian crash which is old as fuck doesnt even have a series, and a zildjian splash and it makes my set sound and feel way better. but yeah pacific is not a bad way to start out. i think its the lower end DW set if i'm not mistaken.

pearl forums are decent kits that wont break the bank but will still sound decent when you get better, gretcsh catalina clubs are good as well. to be honest any kit will sound pretty good if you have decent heads and they're tuned well, i use evans g2's on the batter side (the side you hit), and uncoated emporers on the resonator side. when your starting tuning well can be difficult, look up some tutorials on the internet, maybe invest in a tension watch.

as far as cymbals two crash's a ride and hi hats are pretty standard, i go with paiste or zildjian, but thats all preferance. DO NOT BUY BRASS CYMBALS, bronze is much better sounding.
