LSAT saturday? anyone?

i realize that this site is mostly high school, so this is probably gonna fall on deaf ears, but i know there are also a bunch of college kids on here, so is anyone else taking the LSAT on saturday?

this shit is totally fucking up my life...if you dont know anything about it, consider the SAT but multiplied by at least 10 for difficulty and general anxiety.

basically, i need to nail it the first time so i dont have to take the one in December. ive got a job in Vail lined up for the season and i dont want to think about this thing again after this week, i just want to party my ass off for 8 months before i have to get ready for law school...if i dont blow it up it's going to totally fuck my life up for ANOTHER couple months. is ANYONE else freaking out as hard as i am right now?

i hit a 167 today on my final practice test though, and it coulda been a 171 but i ran out of time on the first 2 sections cause i was out of practice, but that wont happen on game day, so im ready to fight i think.

i've got a competition in me...i want no one else to succeed.

Wear a fireproof suit and set fire to the testing center in the final 5 minutes. Only you will turn in a completed test that day.

i am in my fall semester of junior year at college and i am thinking that this may be the route i take. when did you start getting prepared? how did you go about this? etc i am curious and want to know if i should start planning already or not

i mean i started "planning" to get ready for it sometime around liiiiiike april. but in my case i had a bit of a hangup. i finished undergrad in december and moved to vail and i was basically just skiing every day, so it was pretty much impossible to start studying. i started for real in like mid-may, i basically just picked the prep class that fit into my summer plans.

bottom line is you dont really need to start studying until like 3 months before your actual test, give or take. if you start way too early you'll just burn out on studying. i definitely did that at one point and my scores started regressing.

i also have some other advice. a lot of people would advise you to get a lot of shit out of the way so that your last year in college will be easy. i was kinda forced to cram a lot of shit into my last semester like my thesis and shit, so it was pretty much impossible for me to study for the LSAT during school. because of this, i couldnt take it until this summer at the earliest, which means i cant go to law school until next fall...

my point is that this particular plan afforded me the opportunity to take a year and a half to live in the mountains and ski all the time, and my parents arent on my ass very much because im about to have the LSAT done and then the earliest i can go to school is like a year from now...so it's basically a free pass to do whatever you want without feeling guilty for taking a total year off

my point: dont take easy classes that make it attractive to take the LSAT your senior year, cause then youll be pressured to go STRAIGHT to law school, and honestly, fuck that mess, my life is ridiculous right now

I'm doing the same take a year off thing, Figure it will be the last time in a long time I can get up to the mountains 50+ times in a season. A 167 though and possible 171? That is a great score, how did you end up doing on the real LSAT?

drstrangelove, what was your major in college? I'm thinking of taking the lsat route, but my college doesn't have a pre law program so I'm probably just going to major in political science and history. good idea?

Highest recommended majors in undergrad are Poli Sci, History, Philosophy and English. The LSAT is more about styles of thinking and how you can express your ideas than your actual knowledge which these majors help re-enforce.

Nope, but I took the GRE's this summer and I take the GRE biology subject test in October. It's not something I'm looking forward to.

I'm debating withdrawing and just studying militantly for the December one. I've studied extensively, but there's definitely periods where I've slacked off a lot, it being summertime and all. FUCK!!! This feeling of anxiety is completely foreign to me and I cannot stand it. I have to score upwards of at least 168, and I'm only averaging between 161 and 165. I've taken 5 practice tests already and if I take another I'm going to gouge my own eyes out.
