So ive decided to get me some new skis, they will be my first in over 4 years, my current ones are so beat up scratches everywhere, chips and everything.
now im a uni student so im on a bit of a budget trying to keep it below 500 and want somethiing i can use all over the mountain but will hold up in the park.

ive been looking on d-structure cause im in canada and i figure it will make shipping easier and quite a few on the line skis are well priced at about 399, specifiacally the afterbang, and mastermind

there is also a few cheap skis from 4frnt specically the TNK

my specs:
im 5"10
about 145 or so

whatwould everyone suggest???

stay away from the afterbangs... look into the 4FRNT MSP, and the K2 Extreme/PE... K2 is a solid all mountain brand

the extreme has been known to have topsheet/chipping issues but if you arent riding 100% park you should be solid on them

Don't get Extreme's, my dad's buddy has a pair of PE's and I tried them out they weren't very good for park. Really heavy and suuuuuuper stiff. I ski ghettos too which aren't exactly very flexible. They would be great for if you just wanted all mountain twins but I wouldn't really want to do rails on them if I could help it.

ya k2s are bomb. the kung fujas are perfect for you. it did so good in the freeskier all mtn. test so they put in the park test and it acceled there too. im getting them next year fosho!

ok so stay away from all the skis i mentioned??
and i realize they not the best but they were just a bit cheaper

i originally did look at the K2 fujas its just the price tag that threw me off, i realize they are prob exactly what im looking for but then i also need new bindings, the onees i have now are CRAP, if i land to hard this one piece always breaks off and they so HEAVY

anyone other suggestions for a good all mountain ski that can handle the park as well???
preferably not a terrible expensive one.

side note. has anyone in Canada ever bought anything form D-structure and what are the usual s+h costs and how was your experience

I heavily recomend surface watch lifes. but if you like K2 look into last years Kung Fujas. I think theyre like 300 but dont hold me to that.

alright thx for the suggestions, right now im looking at:
the jeronimos
line chronics
K2 kung fujas

im thinking the chronics would be great since a very reputable company and relative cheap, havent heard much about ON3P but if Rowen is suggesting them, then y not, plus very cheap atm since on sale
Kung fujas might be out of my price range

but my question now is what size should i go

im about 5"10/5"11 so thats about 177cm, im a very strong skiier, just not the best at park so i can probably a 181 or something cause i think 171 might be a bit small for shredding the mountain but would be great for the park..... help

I would stay away from 4frnt especially. They have terrible customer service and their skis always fall apart.

if your looking at chronics look at the chronic cryponite its the chronic with a wider underfoot. so more all mt plus it still slays in the park.

check out my review..

you can pick up last years fujas for decently cheap. I ride the 08-09s and they rip up everywhere on the mountain. im sure backcountry has em for cheap, or getboards has them down $330, which is a SICK buy. Also they have last years griffons on there for $160, so you can get my exact setup for $490, where i spent $750 last year. And dude, its totally worth the extra cash. this is the PERFECT setup for you...
