Im buying a snowmobile! fuck yeah!

i'm looking at a 2003 Arctic cat mountain cat 900 1m, has anyone ever ridden one? my roommate rode a turbo one and said it was sick. i realize its a 2 stroke, i would rather have a 4, but beggars cant be choosers. it has modified exhaust, and a lefty throttle. i dunno the mileage yet, but i'm getting it.
can you guys also give me a price that you think the sled is worth? they are asking 3400 which i feel is high. i found 2 used ones so far, one was 2600 the other was 2800.
if your in the know, your input would be greatly appreciated. im gonna be riding around with apex's and i need to be able to keep up.

Sounds fast as fuck, offer them like 2800 or so id say based on your research, tell them you found other ones for 2600 or whatever.

dude thats the exact sled i have and its fucking boss.. i'd never really ridden a sled before i got my last season especially in deep powder and it was hard to get it at first but now that i how a sled with that much power i fucking love it.. i've towed 4 homies behind me into the backcountry... the sled is sick, pinned it somewhere between 90 and 100 on a frozen lake, deffinatly worth 2800. thats exactly what i paid for mine and it had super low miles, only 1400

I have a 2004 king cat 900, which is pretty similar to the mountain cat.
That AC 900 engine is known to be very reliable. The power it has is really badass and fun to ride.
That price however does seem rather high. I'd offer them closer to $2800.

ya thats bullshit if they want 3400 thats a 2600-2800 $ sled... unless theres a bunch of shit on it... why the hell would you want a 4 stroke? a mountain cat will destroy apexs... 2 strokes are wayyyyy better... especially for boondocking and shit, if i had a dollar for every apex ive dug out... id be rich

I just sold my 2007 Summit 800 skidoo 144" with a new warrantied engine for $5000 CANADIAN. You can pick a new one for $8800 CND right now.

Dude is asking WAY too much.

PS. Buying a sled is the best thing you'll ever do, and 2 strokes have way more torque and power than a 4 stroke, unless you drop 10k and turbo your 4 stroke.

it had an almost brand new slp pipe on it.. and then it had a chromed out windshield..  also, mine has a 154" track..

guys, i'm so jealous. i want a sled so bad! but sadly they are forbidden here in the alps....

this one has:immons Skis, SLP Exhaust System, RacePack EGT Guages. Awesome 151 in. track, lighter parts and a new dropped and rolled chain case.

I have a 2001 Mountain Cat 800, with a 144 inch track.  It's a fucking tank.... a huge machine, but it shreds and gets me into some good zones.

id love a sled i was driving a round a 1989 skidoo and work this winter and it was still awesom for being a piece, it cost 300 bucks i think or maybe we even got it for free, just had to cleane out the carb, swaped out skis and cleaned out the air box and it was as good as new but only 20 years old

the guy who owns it is 45 or 50, so im assuming it hasn't been ridden to hard. he goes riding with his wife who rides a 600. im still waiting on the mileage

A 900 can be pretty shady from my research.... dont blow it up! 

I just picked this up:
It's a 2000 ski summit 700, but the 700 blew up and a modded (new head) 800 was put on (and i know 800s can blow up easily too...but oh well).  Suspension was lowered to throw on a 156 track.  Paid $1550.  Cant wait to brahhpp it!

dont need a trailer. my roommate already has a 2 spot. and i drive a subie with no trailer hitch.

i also have a feeling you $750 sled is not to quality.

BTW...... i also made custom ski racks for mine spending a total of about $20 at Home depot.  If anyone is interested let me know and i'll get some pictures and some details as to how I made them.

Two strokes are the way to go, when you get a yammi 4 stroke stuck youl know why......
and when you do wear it outi ts 200 bucks for a new top end, usualy your gona need to do that every 2 years, speakign from experience dont get a polaris 800 round 2000-2003, you will throw your pto bearing out and fuck your motor.
also do NOT put nitrous on a two stroke.......... bad idea....... motors break so fast

Yea drop the price down a bit, worst case scenario is that you have to haggle, but you will still save some $.

If only i had $2800 for a sled, i want one so bad
