Now, just throwing it out there but what if we took half of that money *(~400 billion) and invested in nuclear power. It costs at the most 10 Billion to build a new plant. So even half the stimulus money could have almost doubled America's number of nuclear plants. In 2008, nuclear energy accounted for about ~20% of all electrical output. So with just half the stimulus money we could have a guaranteed cheap source for 10% of our electricity for the next 50 years minimum.
All I'm saying is that instead of pissing the money away on bullshit government make work programs why not invest in something that is has guaranteed results. I dont know the in's and outs of how exactly somethign like this would work but that's why I posted for debate.
A main reason why this would never work is because of all the hippies who think they are going to die from a nuclear accident/explosion. That shit wont happen, its almost 2010, they dont fuck up when building these things. Plus it would reduce Carbon emissions which is usually a concern for those same hippy types.
