getting real advertisers for the site

I have a good idea. we should all send emails to all of the major ski makers and tell them to advertise on here. we should flood their inboxes with emails about how they should advertise and/or sponsor the site, because it helps the sport progress. if this happens then maybe ns.com can maybe sponsor events at different areas for the site users. just a thought.
meh..
why don't they put a knife on a spork? doesn't that make sense to you?

not really.. they'd associate NS with something bad... I can't find it but there was a template that you could send to a company on behalf of Harvey. All the company needs to do is recognize the site and in a positive, professional way.

Maybe if we made a petition thingy and sent it once, they would listen, I dont know!

Marge: Homer, stop picking at it.
Homer (with donut head): Oh, but I'm so sweet and tasty. Well, time to go to work.
Lisa: Dad, I wouldn't go outside if I were you.

Wiggum: Don't worry, boys. He's gotta come outta there sometime.

We already tried... I must have written to ten companies back when there was big server trouble... I never got a single reply except from Dave P. at Line, who 'wasn't interested'.

That's what the point of the hoodies are, to create revenues for the site.
The idea of making the store bigger, is a good one, however right now there is a very slow turnover rate. To increase it, it will take more money. It's kind of a catch 22. I believe that Harvey is in the process of creating a business plan to get some government grants and/or some bank loans to fund the beginning stages of a larger store.

1080chick, there is add space at the top of your screen, it changes every time your screen refreshes. That's where the adds would go, nothing would really change.

yeah rebels right...the ads would just go where they are now and wouldnt change anything...except there may be the name of a bigger company there
I know there are plans to continue developing the store and hopefully sell some other products but that takes money and corporate commitments that the site doesnt have yet

I think Adds are good. Personally I would mind another add bar at the bottom of the page,

Nate Lodder Just became a member of New Schoolers (one of the founders of Jib Culture) I'm Sure he'd give Harvey a couple of bucks for a Addvertising Band on the top of the site

Doesn't really matter where the ads are, if no one's buying them anyway. Come video season in the fall all the ad space will be bought up, that's what happened last year.
Yeah, hoodies are a good source of revenue... there are many other options as well. I know Matt has considered T-shirts and hats before, but you're taking a big risk there- how do you know they'll be bought up? It's a big venture. I wonder how many hoodies we actually sold this year... 50? Less?

I don't know how many were sold, but I can tell you this, more would have been sold if the turnover rate wasn't so slow.
