Good boot fitter based in the UK? Dalbello? +k

Hey guys,

Is the best place to get boots Ellis Brigham?

Or does anyone know anywhere else? I want to try out the Dalbello Il Morro but they don't stock it at Ellis Brigham.

I currently use SPK Kaos 08/09 model, but kinda bought it a bit hastily and think I ought to have a proper fitting session.

Ellis Brigham are generally not very good...

EB is very good if you make sure the bootfitter has been doing it a while, far better than most UK shops. Otherwise, Solutions4Feet, Lockwoods, Anything Technical and there's a Surefoot and Pro Feet in London.

No-one is really doing Dalbello in the UK any more. Freeze were the only shop I knew who did but not this year. Go in with no preconceptions and let them do their job.

Ellis Brigham have a great range of boots and the fitters are super helpful when i got mine done in their new store at Westfield in London! Give em all your details like terrain you ski etc and they will hook you up with a super boot at a great price if your prepared to knock em down a bit! good luck

I am near Stamford/Grantham

My nearest city would be peterborough or nottingham...but I am prepared to travel a bit to get the right boot.

Do you think I would be better to wait until I am in resort?

depends which resort your going to in europe would be a waste of time with euro being so crappy and honestly your probs best getting em before you go and you can get em propperly moulded and footbeds etc. mite be worth taking a trip to ur nearest ski shop! if going to US or Canada probs jus get em out there cos generally cheaper and probabbly better fitters

I looked at their website...not that I'm saying a race boot might not be right for me but they only seem to do race boots and recreational boots...

I had a few tweaks to the toe box area on my boots at solutions4feet recently. Can't remember what his name was but the owner really seemed to know his stuff and take the time to get the best possible fit. I would recommend them.

I don't think it matters whether they generally stock race, freeride or freestyle boots for a fitting. A good bootfitter should have the knowledge required to sort you out (unless your after asian allen type mods).

The guy there (Colin) 100% knows his shit and will tell you what boot to buy even if he doesnt have it in stock. If he suggests a boot go out and buy it online if you need to then go back to him and get the custom footbeds.

Hes not a boot seller, hes a boot fitter and wont try to sell you something from his range if he doesnt think its the right boot.

EB at Casvegas. There is a big burly dude in there who knows his shit fully. I had some work on my boots done by this guy, witnessed him first hand boot fit a middle age lady and an 18 yr old kid about to do some BASI course. He fully knew his stuff

If i am not in the U.S next time i need boots i will go to this guy.

But for the best; Jackson Hole; the sports shop by the main lift and next to the ski rental place; guy in there called Larry i think. THE best boot fitter

This is all really sound advice, cheers guys! I will probably explore all these shops, I feel bad for being so hasty with my SPKs, it's not like they are uncomfy or a particularly bad fit, they may even be the right boot for me but the shop i bought them from had such limited stock they were basically the only option for me at the time.

I feel I need to try on other boots to know if other boots would be better

i have very problematic feet so i went down to profeet in london. the man you want is jimmy- he's superb. i paid an extra 100 quid for my boots but given the myriad of problems i've had in the past with boots it was defo worth it.
