so, we are building some rails at my school, and i'm worried about making the DFD too long, if the flat gets to long it will be hard to place it somewhere. i'm thinking 1,5m. that would be like 4.9' ?
or could someone give me some idea of what this rail is like ? https://newschoolers.com/web/content/viewvideo/id/291380/cat/top/ on 1.50 when henrik does he's thing.
and what in what angle should it be ?

I would guess D-7ft F-5ft D-8ft, angle wise is gonna be harder because it depends the angle of the hill/pad you are going to put it on, but the Downs should match the angle of the hill/pad. meaning that the first down will be lower to the ground than the second down, cuz of the flat. Also you have to take into account the the steeper the hill/pad, the more angle you will have on your DF kink, making it a little bit harder. Also if your rail is steep, then you will go faster, making it possible to air out of the flat and gap the down.

sorry for the dub post, but the lengths could also be 8ft-6ft-10ft, these are all from eyeballing though of that specific rail, but you could make a huge variety of different DFD by changing the lengths and the angles.

yeahh that kinda idea^^
i think the slightly longer final section is a good way to go, it'll give you more room for coolness

i think my mountain has a 6ft-6ft-6ft, and there isnt much room to do stuff on the first down and the last down is kinda short

Go longer than you think you need. I made a steel 8ft, 8ft, 8ft down flat down and it was too short for any real trickery... or to be much fun.

I made one total 20 ft long, 6.666 feet each section. I would not go any shorter than this; it would be nice to have mine a little longer. For the angles, mine are just under 20 degrees, which feels pretty good. I would recommend going between 15 and 20 degrees to keep it fun and trickable. I have pictures in my profile if you are interested.

Winner. but I would make the last down 14. Or you could go 8-6-12. You always want a long down at the end.

i guess location and transport options will probably dictate, but make the rail bigger than you think. It may look big when building it, and feel like a tiny piece of shit when hitting it. At a mountain, a section of 5ft feels like a stupid bump.
