'10 Kung Fujas or Liberty LTE's?

Hey, I'm looking to pick up some new skis this season and I can't decide between Liberty's LTE's or K2's Kung Fujas. I'm from Minnesota so theres not any sort of powder out here so I will be in the park/on the groomers mainly. I have wanted to try a rockered ski in the park for a while and I have heard the Kung Fujas are a lot of fun and are really buttery which I like. I have also heard a lot of good things about the LTE's and how the are great in the park. I'm not a fantastic park skier but I get by. I'm looking at getting something around 169-171, while I'm 5' 11", I'm really thin (only 145LBs), I really like the slightly shorter feel for jibbing and since I'm in Minnesota I don't really need anything longer. Any opinions or advice in general would be great.

if those are the two your thinking about go for fujas because liberty kinda sucks. If your looking into some other ones theres the moment reno rocker and check out surface skis.

Personally I'd get the LTEs, but I like my skis a little on the stiff side, I feel more in control. But, the Kung Fujas as supposed to be pretty sick too. If you want a soft ski go with the Kung Fujas, if want a ski that's stiffer go with the LTEs.

Aight thanks guys, +k to all of you. (flashkick you have been a lot of help here and in my other post :P) As far as length goes, do you think i'm making a mistake going with the 169s?

I would go longer for sure. I've also heard really good things about the Armada Alpha 1, so you may want to check those out. And I personally really like Liberty - I got a pair of Helix's last year, and they are amazing.

Is it true that k2 sizes their skis differently than everyone else?
If what I have heard is true wouldn't 169s end up being around 173 and 179s end up being around 183?
Can anyone confirm this?

The LTEs are softer than the Phil Larose Pro model (med. stiff) but I haven't ridden them yet to compare for myself (LTEs are on the way). They are also bamboo and will have plenty of pop. I think either ski will be a solid choice for you so if the price is a concern, go for the cheaper one?? Around Mn, you don't really need the extra length and weighing as little as you do, you'll probably be fine for getting the 171. Some people might flame for me saying that but personally I think you'll be all right.  Where do you ski? I'm a park digger at the Andes by Alexandria...

its true on the old seth vicious and hellbents, so i would assume it to be the same for the kung fujas.
(189 seth=192ish and 189 hb=194ish).

I live in burnsville so buck hill is my second home... Shitty I know but the park is pretty legit from time to time.  I also get out to wild mountain/afton a few times a year along with Lutsen if can manage it over a long weekend.

How was andes park last year? never had a chance to get out there.

I have 178 Anthems and 179 Fujas and the Fujas are definatley about a 183 probably 184. Good skis Im really undecided about which to keep gonna see what I prefer or possibly swap both for LTEs or something else. Fujas are really stable on boxes and rails more so than the anthems but I havnt had much time on the anthems. Also on jumps the Fujas feel nice and controlled and landings feel really smooth. Although they are definatley a fair bit heavier thinking of remounting at centre to make them spin a bit easier as anthems in comparison feel like feathers on my feet.

I just picked up some jester schizo bindings so mounting position isn't going to really be an issue. Thanks for the input, thats good to know. +k to you.

I go to Buck for $10 Sundays sometimes. We don't have as many features at the Andes or the space available for the park like Buck but the features are a bit nicer. I'm pretty anal about setting stuff up nicely for both skiers and snowboarders so it's not completely snowboard specific like it used to be. There are probably 4-5 comps over the winter as well so we have to tear down and redesign for each one which lets us change lines and features pretty often. If you ever want to check it out, let me know and I'll give you a heads up on the best days to come. Might even swing a lift ticket too.

Get the 179cm and mount em -1cm from center ... I saw lotsa park rats in NZ this season rocking that set up and they were killing it :P

Im 6'0", 180lbs, and i was riding the 189cm obsethed @ -1cm from center as my do anything, go anywhere ski and they BLEW MY MIND

We had 2010 gear this season, so stoked on the NZ suppliers!

Sounds like you care a lot about your park, good to hear, I'll hit you up forsure if I get out there this season. I can probably snag you a ticket at buck if you lemme know as well.

@Kiwi, I was looking at the obsethed today at a store near my place and as fun as it looked (insanely), I just couldn't convince myself it would be put to good use here in minnesota. 3-4 inches of pow just wouldn't satisfy its needs lol.

Has anyone tried on3p's jeronimos or blue steeles yet? They both look like fun but I haven't heard a lot about either of them yet.

haha wow, that is a fantastic name change, although I'm sure 90% of ns won't get it.

And as much as I love Liberty (I've got this thing for bamboo) the Kung Fujas may go down as one of my favorite ski (I also love buttery)

i have a brand new pair of '10 fujas that have never been mounted if you want them. size 179 and will sell to ya for 500...msrp for like 700 or some shit
