it would have had to been pretty recently, if not then it was probably an F430 in the same color, and IMO is a better car...
Anyways 6 years my mom was picking me up from newark airport and I was driving her jaguar xjr which is a pretty cool car. I was the on the highway and I hear this incredibly loud engine behind me. I thought it was going to be a beat up delivery truck or something. As I go to look in the mirror this red flash FLIES past us, like so fast it shook our car and made my mom scream. I instantly recognized it as the F40 and start screaming "thats a fucking ferrari, thats a fucking ferrari" my first thought is to try to follow it but there was obviously no chance of catching up. I've seen better cars than that (Enzo in Arizona, Mclaren SLR in Kansas) but I still get pumped up when I think about that F40, pumped up enough to write a novel on here and search for videos of it
Old School Mopar like the Cudas, Challengers, Chargers, and Road Runners were sick. A Roush Mustang though or a Boss Mustang would be fucking sick to own.
so that makes it worth it to have a car that uses technology that wouldn't be out of place in the 70's, has plastics made from melted tic tac boxes and handles like a boat? American car quality is inexcusable, no wonder half of them went bankrupt.
your idea of a mans car is a truck, which is pointless to 90% of people 90% of the time. I've never gotten why so many people buy them here when a car would work much better. and what's so womanly about this?
I choose a truck because I go to the junkyard from time to time to pick up old scrap metal to try and make things in my dad's shop. Like this year I am going to try and make my own grill guard for my Bronco.
Also, I would much rather have a Muscle car from the 60s and 70s over a newer German car cause I enjoy driving them more and they are iconic vehicles.
My dad and I will be doing a full engine swap on my 1984 Bronco. Outside the air filter, two hoses, the alternator, and the oil filter everything is the same as it was when it came off the factory line in 1983 (my dad bought it from the first owner). Gonna drop in another 351. Tried to get my dad to let me drop in a big ass Hemi but we wold of needed to change the tranny and basically rework the entire engine compartment to fit the fucking thing in.
what's wrong with a SUV and a trailer? it would have better road manners and be more comfortable. germany made it's share of iconic vehicles which are better to drive than muscle cars.
why the fuck would you not want an american muscle that fucking purrs and a euro car that can rip as well? you are making the most pointless argument ever....
Have you ever tried driving a small single axle trailer? Those things fucking suck to drive around.
And I have a 1984 Bronco I. I only call it a truck because it was essentially built on a shortened F150 chassis.
And I wouldn't fit in German "iconic" vehicles. Muscle cars hold a place in my childhood. My dad had a Corvette, his best friend still has a 71 Superbird with a Hemi, his best friends three sons have a 32 Ford Hot Rod with a big block, a Yenko Camaro, and a Boss 429 Mustang all restored and super fucking shiny and awesome.
Also, in Bellingham, certain areas, you get annoying people that will literally tell you to drop out of college to go nuy a hybrid to save the environment.... old muscle cars and my Bronco you can gun the engine and blast exhaust into their open windows in the summer.
To each their own.
Charmander, the friend my dad has can get Ford Big Blocks cheaper cause he has restored a ton of old school Ford Hot Rods and muscle cars. He wants my dad to put in the Boss 429 engine and then throw a Supercharger on it.
hybrid drivers are idiots, but that's beside the point.
I just feel that German cars are 20 years ahead of the Americans technology wise, for instance; fuel injection was on Mercedes cars in the 50's, the Americans stuck with carbs for as long as they could. The way i see it is the Germans build cars the be as best they can be, the Americans build cars to make a buck.
The German sports cars were made for the road race courses. The American Muscle cars started at the NASCAR tracks and the Drag Strips, hence the engine designs are built for huge amounts of horsepower that can cause their frames to bend at the takeoff line.
Plus, with the purr and vibrations of a muscle car it can turn some girls on (like mine when I borrowed a close friends Challenger to go on a date) ;)
Corvette cheaper than a Viper and more iconic. Plus for your money a Corvette (the top ones) can hold their own with some of the super cars in this world.
new swift concept for the Izod IndyCar Series. So sick. It would be sick to be able to race this, although it would never be legal and expensive as hell.
Yes. I'm from California. Where we have tracks that you can make right turns on like Laguna Seca and Sears Point...
It tears me up inside that our best rally drivers are Travis Pastrana and Ken Block... and they aren't even in WRC because guys like Sebasian Loeb would leave them so far in the dust its pathetic...
And then anyone in Nascar would just get laughed at if they tried going up against F1 drivers today... (Jeff Gordon, and Jimmie Johnson, both from California as well, wouldn't stand a CHANCE..)
Only guy who can even make it in F1 from here might be Scott Speed (also california - word)... and in the years he raced F1 he accrued ZERO points haha (and the Torro Rosso cars back then weren't even that bad, seeing as Coulthard was able to podium with them..)
If it wasn't for Mario Andretti, I wouldn't know what the hell to think of American racing drivers... and he was actually born in Italy himself. crap. haha.
And as far as your car that can accelerate as fast as the space shuttle... I give you this... driven by a brit... 13 years ago... across the same desert in Nevada that Burning Man is hosted every year...
Hey classic American muscle has it's place. The pony cars of the 70s were designed for the race tracks such as the Trans Am series. The Firebird, Camaro, Cuda, Mustang....those were designed for speed and handling. I wouldnt call ANY of those cars a boat at all, however anything bigger then yes. But I want a muscle car because they sound badass, are iconic, fast as hell, and I can fuck in the back of them.
Dont get me wrong I like newer German cars but the old ones look a tad ugly and most if not all of them are too small to fuck in.
And to Panda and Charmander, I'm checking out a 72 Monte Carlo. May trade my shitbox S10 for it if the dude bites.
I fucking love Top Fuel dragsters and Funny Cars though. So sick and the drivers themselves are incredibly friendly and down to Earth people it's awesome.
My dad wants to try and get an old school front engine nostalgia one to just take to local tracks for fun someday. One of these:
