Southern Hemisphere's summer?

i searched it and couldn't find anything. When do they have their break during their summer or our summer, or are they in year round school.

I'm from NZ and in high school we begin the school year in early February. We have external exams in late November and get a 2+month Summer holiday which (obviously) includes Christmas and New Year. The year is divided up into 4 "terms" with a 3-week(autumn), 2-week(winter) and 3-week(spring) holidays at the end of each.

That has got to be so odd having Christmas in the summer.  How does Santa land his sleigh if there cannot be any snow?

School or University?

Uni starts beginning of march till mid to end june (semester 1) and semester 2 is from Mid July till late Oct or early Nov depending on exams. Got a 2 week break or so in the middle of each semester too
