I have mono and cannot work full shifts.  I want to go into work during the time i was schedueled and work for a few hours but my employer says if im sick i sould not come to work.  It's a part time job.  My doctor told me if i fell up to it i can go ahead and work.  Im from south dakota and cant find any state laws on the supject.  Do i have the right to work.

I guess its your choice, I went to work with the flu, but I work by myself so I didnt really worry about other people. in any case I dont think its illegal or anything, just badass

it seems just about everyone is missing some key facts

1. I was on the calander to work shifts this week.

2. My Doctor said it was ok to work as long as i felt up to it.

3. My employer said i sould not work because i am sick, and for that reason only.

no shit sherlock. your employeer doesnt want you to be getting all the other employees sick, otherwise he  wont have any staff for a few weeks and his shit will go under, if you need money that bad, just go to the sperm bank

You guys are all fucking retarded.  You don't have to kiss someone to get mono.  You can transfer it by sneezing on someone, sharing a drink, etc.  And it is highly contagious.  And it can knock you out of commission for like a month.

if your employer doesn't want you to work, i'm pretty sure he has every right to not let you. he's just playing it safe. it's unlikely that everyone/anyone else would get sick, but it's worth the risk
