Replying to TRANSITIONS- Official Forum
Hello newschoolers!
I hope everyone has had a great summer and is getting stoked for the coming season! I am usually in Colorado this time of year and I can definitely say I miss the smell of winter in the air and the vibe that comes along with premiere season. Unfortunately LA is a bit removed from that vibe. So when that stoke creeps up on you soak a little bit up for me, it would be much appreciated!
It's hard to believe that two years have passed since I started the project "Transitions" with Simon. A lot has gone down in those two years, we've had some high points and some low points. It is hard to believe that tonight all our hard work will finally be showcased to an audience! We are incredibly lucky to be included in the IF3 film Festival and I am so bummed I can't be there for the opening night. From what I hear it sounds like it will be a night to remember. I am hoping that those of you who are able to attend will use this forum for feedback, whether positive or negative, so I can follow what the critics are saying.
It was a goal of mine to keep this project as hush-hush as possible in hopes that there would be very little assumption as to what this film would be about. Obviously word leaked that Simon was making a documentary and the rumor mill started turning. All I can say about the movie is this... I have worked on over 25 action sports films in my career and "Transitions" is unlike any of them. It was a breath of fresh air to approach filmmaking from a completely different perspective than what I was used to in the past. The subject of the film is much bigger than just Simon Dumont, and I would like to thank Simon for allowing me to use him as a vessel to tell a story that I watched develop first-hand over the last decade. There is not a more perfect personality that could've helped me tell the story that I set out to tell two years ago.
I hope you all enjoy the film available FREE next month @ www.redbullskiing.com/transitions
