VCT vs MSP

Looking at jobs out west... my big dilemma right now is whether I want to buy a pair of MSP 161s or VCT 168s... I've never spent an entire season out west, VCTs would probably be rad for the early morning pow... I can only afford 1 pair of skis right now, getting another mid season is a distinct possibility. Have an old pair of Line invaders for park beaters, so the VCT would cover all bases, but the versatility of the MSP makes me wonder if I should go for that right off the bat.

Anybody own either (or both) of these skis that could advise?
