and i would hope you choose food. my point would be truly poor people arent making the choice between food and something like skiing. its more like food or you die.
has no one heard the term "ski bum"? I take offense when people call me a bum, cause I personally prefer hobo, which actually as some history and background t it, but if you put "ski" in fron t of "bum", that's a completely different story. I believe it was ShaneMcConkey, or Seth Morrison who spent an entire winter living in the shed in the backyard of some college kids' house in Telluride or something, I remember reading it somewhere. There is definitely such thing as a poor skier, I may be living out of a nice 4 season Mountain Hardwear tent this winter so I can ski, because rent is the biggest expense anyone has, so yeah, you can have a poor skier.
no you cant. you can have a skier who choses to spend his money on some things and not others. skiing is one of the most expensive sports there is, if you are skiing, you arent poor.
it depends on how you define poor. are you poor because your parents wont give you money? cause thats not poor what so ever. or are you poor because you dont work. ive worked my ass off this summer which is going to allow me to ski, and live (rent/food/ etc.)
i have no money. i owe my friend $25 and i can't pay him back haha.
i turn 18 on nov. 5th and then my parents are going to make me pay rent, and even then i still have to save enough to move out ASAP.
i really need a job.
well, I work when I can, when I need money, or when I can get a job, I'd say living off less than 6000$ a year is poor, because even if skiing weren't my priority, it would be difficult to live off that much, but I don't mind, as long I get to ski, eat, sleep, and shower a few times a week, i'm happy.
