CD-MD-MP3?

Ok I know this has been ask a million times but I have some questions:
1)Isn't there something that allows you to record on to minidisk faster than real time? If So how much and what is it called?
2)I know a mp3 player can't skip, is it possible for a minidisc?
3)What would you get and why.
My 6 year old discman finally broke yesterday and thinking of upgrading my technology. I love the cd players but they skip and are big.

I got all you answers right here:
A minidisc player will break before it skips... most likely... and mp3 players are only mini hard drives and they break way easier than MDs. Also Until about a month ago, MDs recorded in Real Time ... 1 hour for 1 hour of music now they record at 32x... that means less that 2 mins for an hour of music...

I bought a tape player in the states for $10 at a drug store..... that thing is the shit... I have crashed on it so many times - and it is still goign good..... and yea. it NEVER skips right? sure the sound quality is shit.... but I just like singing along any ways.... and punk sounds beter when it sounds like shit anyways... that just makes it way more punk. he he.

WHISTLERMAN, you don't know what your talkin about. that is the best MUSIC PLAYING DEVICE that you can buy. It's not just a mini harddrive. It has an adress book, and other software. It transfers WAY FASTER then real time, unlike those SHITTY MD players. About 15 minutes to transfer 1000 songs, not bad. It holds 1000+ songs and the music is CD quality. They DO NOT BREAK, i've landed on mine about 20 times and it is in perfect condition. don't listen to whistlerman, he just likes carrying around 10000 little CD's with him.

i love my MD...i have real time recording which kinda blows, but i can fit like 4 hours on here and MD's are sooo cheap....MP3 may be better quality or something but memory is so expensive, mds are like a dollar....i dont know, its all pretty sweet

no no, that picture you boys saw up there was the Apple I-pod. bow to it. its the, by far, the best Mp3 player, and it looks 10X better than all the other ones.

Yeah, any other good MP3 b/c I can't afford an Ipod and plus i only have a pc! If not I think Ill get one of those 32X MDs!

if u wanna get an mp3, check out the bantam ba350. had 128mb and its really small (size of credit card but thicker) check out their site at www.bantamusa.com i would reccomend one of the new MD players with net md. go to www.minidisco.com to see those.

Im pretty sure im going to get the Sony MZ-N505 Minidisc (sorry mp3 fans). It cost a lot less than the mp3 players that hold a lot of music. This MD transfers 32X and holds 5 hours of music per disc and with software and 56 hours playback with only one AA battery. SOrry this looked like the best deal!

i heard that with that little mac i pod thing in the picture, people are going into stores, downloading software off the computers, like at best buy, taking their i pod home, and putting it on their computers, without the store ever even knowing it, becuase it is so small

yea that's true. you can upload software to the ipod, and it has plent of room for it. they do that and then just walk out of the store.
