I usually hate pictures in pencil but this looks sick, the body looks extremely realistic, great job.

You're proportions are exceptional, but it's flat. Really flat. Add more value with different hardness of pencils and it'll go from good to great. And for the background if you don't feel like doing what's in the picture, you could always do a vague, blendy, snowish background with a shadow. That could be dope. Pretty good job though.

thanks for the advice!
i know i've still got work to do with the shadows and depth, but i've spent s=a lot of time on it, so for now i  have to take a break, or else all i'm gonna do is scrap the drawing...

its pretty good but its too two toned. theres grey, and then dark grey. and its too blurry as well. theres no crispiness to the drawing. you gotta make more contrast between the dark and light areas. solid though

take the skier's right boot for example. in the picture, you can clearly see where the boot ends and where the ski begins, but with youre drawing, its all blurred. you gotta shade the edges of the jacket too. dont draw an outline line, but you still gotta shade the outermost part so that it looks rounded. still a very solid drawing though

sweet, thanks for the critique, I'll take that in consideration!! great advice
i see what you mean by the blurriness, but my scanner isn't of the highest quality, so it isn't as sharp as the actual drawing, but i should work a bit more on that!

also, try doing this. instead of shading like a piece of wood with a grain, try shading in circles around what youre trying to shade. what i mean my that is dont shade all in the same direction, being diagonal in your drawing. it looks better if you shade AROUND what youre shading. for instance, if you shade one of the wrinkles in the jacket, shade wrinkle, then go around the wrinkle, gradually getting lighter. i dunno if youre understanding me lol

I like it a lot.  andyju has a lot of good advice, I'm not very good at drawing, but I did take an advanced drawing class so I know a decent amount.

That's really good.

Also, exactly at the scanner comment, if the scanner isn't good whatever is scanned won't turn out good. That may be affecting the contrast and grayness somebody mentioned earlier. If you have some sort of image editing program, use brightness/contrast or levels to fix that.

thanks a lot!! i'll keep working on it and try to make it better!! by the way, +k for the advice!


and for the scanner, i did adjust a bit the brightness/contrast....i'm kind of a freak with photoshop, i work with it a lot, but the thing is my scanner makes the drawing even more blurry...i think i'll just take a picture of it next time

I really love the ironman one!!

i eventually want to try drawing bumblebee from transformers, but i get discouraged just by looking at the image....there's so many details to do!

pretty sick! you could work on adding a little more contrast to give it more of a punch! and you could always just do some like mounds sketching to make it look like snow is the background as if it's not like a whole page sketch...unless you wanted it that way... keep up the good work!

I don't know the exacty number of hours I spent on it, but I spent around 3 days everytime I had a few minutes to spare, I'd open my sketchbook and continue the drawing....

haha i knew that was matrich, nice drawings though, maybe make the tones pop a little more, i think my drawing here pops a lot just because of the use of line weight and darker tones. try just darkening the shading and stuff and using a sharper pencil, just kinda finish it up, other than that, nice work

using outlines makes it look unreal though. what i suggest is shade the edges darker but dont make em a full definite line, like i did on the christian bale. his face obviously curves away, so there has to be shading, but there is not black line that outlines his face. i made a new drawing by the way, first one since those 3 i posted previously which were done in april

pretty sweet, i just went through all my school work from last year and colleceted my best doodles and drawings, some arnt bad at all. im a big fan of just black pen and any paper, just like to use lines and strokes to shade it lol

I like this style, your drawing i really nice, but that wasn't the look I was going for...i'm trying for a more realistic look
