Bern Hard Hats-Brock Foam

At the triple threat premier I was lucky enough to snag a free helmet. Upon closer inspection I found it was a Bern Baker Hard Hat. I was just curious about people's opinions about these vs the standard certified helmets. I already own a Giro G10 but I was wondering what people thought about my recent acquisition. I understand that it is different and supposedly less safe, buit when I search-barred I found no more specific information.

idk ive hit my head wearing one, didnt hurt.

ye i've got the macon brock helmet no issues seems safe enough think there might be a thread on bern hard hat helmets already if you can find it there was some good info in there ...

As far as I know, they don't pass standard certification because of the lack of egg-shell quality. The Brock foam is supposed to be good in a multiple-impact situation, while an EPS foam helmet is designed to be a single use eggshell (it absorbs impact by cracking, then you throw it out and get a new one). I know a lot of guys that love them, so i say, run with it.

Bern did a test and found that somelike like 70% of impacts were multiple impact situation, hence why the released the Hard Hat line, I know they can't call it a helmet because its not certified.
