First i did what all the How-to movies say is to jump, land on your back, then bounce back on your feet. Thats the simple step, so bare with me for the other ones.
Next go over to a swing set and do a bunch of backflips by holding onto the ropes or chains and throw your feet over your head to do the backflip. You can pull on your arms to get it around, because you are just practicing the motion.
Ok now its time to take it to the tramp, for this you will need a pretty thick rope and a tramp with a net. Tie the rope to the top of opposite poles. Like in the picture, make them tight for the first few tries, they should loosen with use. Use them like the swing, but introduce the bounce, if you bail on your rotation you can catch yourself, or if you cant quite get it around, you can use the ropes to pull it around. Practice spotting with your head. As you get more and more confident with the tight ropes, then make them looser to the point where they wont really give you anymore support.
Tight ropes, rigged from opposite poles: Notice the spacing so you dont get your feet caught:
Hear are the ropes loose:
Once you feel conformable with the loose ropes, then grip the rope like you are doing the a-ok sign (see below) by putting the ropes in between your pinter and thumb.. If you can do this, then you arent using the ropes anymore.
Once you do this your are ready to start letting go. You can start by letting go earlier and earlier before your flip, to the point where you dont ever touch the ropes anymore. Do as many of these as possible. Then take the ropes off and see if you can do it. I have previously done backflips, so i got them in a few tries, once you get over the fear, do as many as you can, like 100 of them, your abs will burn, but you dont want to get scared the next time you try them.
Good luck! Stay safe and i am not responsible!
Please dont hate, i am just trying to help fellow NSers who are having trouble.
