Concerning the treatment of female NSers

Alright guys, serious moment here.

Over the last few days, there has been a spike in rather sexist remarks. I've been getting complaints, and I'm rather pissed off myself at the level of maturity my fellow skiers are demonstrating.

We often wonder why more girls dont get involved in freestyle skiing and its community. Why a girl with twin tips is such a rarity. Based on what I've seen recently, why would a girl want to be a part of this community? We complain that there arent enough freestlye skier babes, but then will reply to a girls post with "Get back to the kitchen LOL>"

Its not funny. Its pissing me and many of the established members off. If you cant control your 15 year old hormonal balance, take a break from NS for a while. If I or another mod see you demonstrate that you cannot, we will take the liberty of giving you that break.

I find it hard to take you seriously as a mod when you've made a couple useless, stupid threads lately. And as a mod who we look to keep the peace and show maturity, yet you get drunk and make threads that ban people? It was funny the first time but the second time it was getting old and you even got called out a couple times. I honestly don't give a shit if you do that, hell I have no control over it, it's just funny when you make a thread concerning making no bullshit posts and then you turn around and make a few of your own.

Exactly. Everyone gets shit, some more than others. If someone, male or female, says something stupid, posts dumb threads about tattoos, or is just bitchy he/she will be called out for it. This is the Internet, a bunch of 14 year old kids throwing insults because they have nothing better to do with their time. When people say, "get back  in the kitchen," I just roll with it. It really doesn't bother me.

Like Aimee said, we can fend for ourselves. But I do thank Rowen for having our best interests in mind.

I was raised by a single mom who is a great woman and I have a great respect for women, but making a joke on the internet about kitchens or women drivers isn't going to deter women from moving up in the world.

i prefer skiing with girls cause you dont get the testosterone buildup to outdo each other and instead you get to just go cruise.

Theres a difference between having a bit of harmless fun and outright discrimination. Believe me, I'm all for having a bit of fun on the forums, but shit can cross the line. Make bullshit posts if you will, but cross the line by insulting others for no other reason than their ethnicity or gender and yes, we will have to get our serious sticks.

I can vouch for rowen and say that he is hilarious. He only sodomizes people with his serious stick when things get out of hand, you guys are just lucky JD isn't soft on women.

But seriously, the last 2 years or so has been absolutely ridiculous... I mean, obviously I knew NS was going to explode around that time, but I didnt think it would shadow 4chan from time to time like it sometimes does...

Ladies Man used to be something very awesome that I could go into, read people's feelings about certain things, get a better understanding of people, and learn a lot about myself. Now its just a bunch of heehaw bullshit and crazyfuck constantly updating us about that serbian chick... There are certain things that still compell me to check out that cult from time to time, but really... shit got harsh enough to where I dont even really want to start any threads in there...

In the park, i've never seen a guy dish on a girl.  If they say something when she falls, it's usually because she decked hard and its more of an "OOOHHHH!! Damn.  Ha!  That looked gnar!"  "Hope she didn't bust a boob on that one." Stuff like that.  But I don't find those sexist.  When someone falls, it always garners some kind of reaction, man or woman.  Falling makes many people laugh, especially if it is a good digger.

As for on NS.  Well, yes there are stupid sexist comments, but comon, its a pubic forum.  Probably many of those posters are young guys who want to be popular on a skiing website and post some ish to get their post count up.  It so easy to see a girl post, then just in a kick re action post something stupid.  Yeah, it can bug  me, but whatev.  They don't know me, I don't know them.  And with those posters it'll probably stay that way.

Nice try Rowan though.  I appreciate the try.  It's always nice to hear a guy trying to stand up to silly hormonal guys being dick heads.
