sounds like rowen needs to change his tampon.
but on a serious not, there are a TON of girl skiers and snowboarders our industry, it just happens that most are either racers or weekend warriors and not park skiers. There are less girls on NS in particular because few girls actually spend time on forums... like seriously i dont know many girls who would even think about it, and I know many many many girls that would make fun of ANYONE who sits on a forum all day, even if it is a skiing forum.
so why arn't there many girls in the park? probably intimidation, confidence, and a few other reasons. It will come around eventually with more girl sanctioned competitions, teams, and coaching. However, there is so little money and support in the industry that its going to be a long time before that happens. Just look at queens cup, it didnt even happen last year if i remember correctly; and I went the two years before that and it was a complete joke in terms of a contest, AND the level of riding, which, I believe is a direct result of the lack of support and funding for the girls side of the sport.
there was a shop that opened up in my town, "missboarder" which only sold womens snowboard stuff, specifically for park girls. it went out of business after one season. that should give you an idea of the amount of support there actually is form women and for women because it honestly takes a certain type of girl to get into and extreme sport, and a whole other type of girl to get good at it.
honestly, maybe there is nothing you can do about the problem as a whole for now. As for what kids are saying on NS, there is nothing you can do about it. And by making this thread you are just gonna keep the jokes coming, and coming stronger and more offensive. Let the girls handle their own problems, let them be strong and defend themselves, and not try to prop them up or treat them differently. maybe thats what we need to do; treat girls just like someone else, not single them out or act differently or deem them as inferior or not as good at skiing or "only belonging in the kitchen."
everyone is here to ski becuase we love the sport, lets work a little harder to make it evolve into a mens AND womens sport. one love.
