Rail help

ok well i have an old water trampoline that got popped so we salvaged it and i took apart the out side ring and it seemed hard enough to weld together and make a sick S rail but i was talkin to my friend and he said its prolly galvinized steel... and wouldnt slide well and would act like the softness of pvc... anyone else use galvinized steel and it work or what? im just tryin to see if i can use it and make a good sterdy rail or fuck it and buy all new stuff which  i  would prolly end up not doing...

thanks for any help... also we have everyhing from a water tramp... rubber (has a hole) canvas, springs (most of em are rusted) and the tubing... if you waant to buy any of it post here or pm me

i know aluminum is really soft but i think galvanized steel would be fine. even if it does slide like pvc, thats not necessarily a bad thing. pvc is sick for home setups. id say go for it

im thinking if anything galvanized steal is harder and i mean its metal how bad could it work? as long as you make a solid base i think you will be fine

If it's galvanized and you try to weld it without a gas mask on, it can kill you.  Galvanizing chemical process releases cyanide gas, I believe, when heated.  I was going to weld some galvanized and someone told me that.  I trust the source.  It may not be cyanide, but it's toxic whatever it is.  Don't weld it!

it should work ive done trampoline rails im not sure if they were galvanized it wasnt mine but it was pretty solid id give it a try i was you

o shit, that would have been a nasty situation if you didnt tell him it was galvanized. When you weld it you can get "Zinc Poisoning" which is deadly. If you want to weld it, make sure that you grind all of the galvanizing in a well ventilated area with a clean air duct. The grinding if not ventilated puts Zinc particles in the air, which are heavy metals, resulting in death.
