Whats the first place to open in CO?

last year the first place i went was A-basin and i went late november. i want to ski ASAP and i was just wondering where is the first place to open?

Loveland pass isnt a ski area, its a road, and there is most likely no skiable snow anywhere around that area right now.  If you really need your fix, get up to peak 10 in breck.  I'll be going soon for my September day.

confirmed, there isnt any snow on loveland pass right now and there wont be for at least 2-3 more weeks, but there's some new snow on the eastern peaks from the storm we had the other day, which is getting me extremely stoked

there's no way of knowing which place is going to open first when it comes to a-bay and loveland, they always compete for it...they usually open on a thursday or a friday, so basically it comes down to whoever has the most efficient snowmaking team because that's what they rely on for their opening day

and right now the cost of skiing peak 10 at breck is whatever it costs in gas to drive up and down...you have to take a car up there...it's basically just a patch of snow with some rails, but i have no idea how much is left

also, they will definitely be closing the access roads sometime in the next couple weeks to start snowmaking at breck, so if you want to get up there you better hurry

last year a-basin opened oct. 15th, and a-basin has opened before loveland (only by a day or two) for the past couple of years. i'm not sure if you can really call a boatload of people all squeezed onto a narrow strip of snow on half of one run going down as fast as possible 'skiing', but it is what it is

no website.
goto the peak 9 parking lot in breck. take the gravel road all the way to the 4th of july bowl.
like 5 rails.

if you're going get up there fast. breck should close all access soon for snowmaking
