Carpet for practice

I'm looking ahead here for the summer. From what I've heard, you can use wet cardboard or carpet to ski on. Since carpet seems like it would be more durable, what kind of carpet would work better? The shaggy kind, or the flat kind?

Also, how fast is it?

o right, i read it wrong, i thought it was wet cardboard or dry carpet, makes sense now, but ye probly the short stuff, cus it seems like that would give the least friction

I can answer this for you because I got my 1080s in the mail and i was sliding all over the carpet in my room with them, and the carpet in my room happens to be long shaggy carpet. They would slide really far, so you can bet on shaggy carpet

i heard that if you get mylar, i think thats what it is, or is mylar that shiny silver crap that Franzia in a box is in? anyway, some kind of black plastic sheet that is super durable in is really fast when you get it wet works awesome. i was talking to some guys who used it over home made ski water ramps.
