aww fuck me i know how you feel, im in the area too, theres wachusett, and then you gotta go 4 hrs to get to any decent place like smuggs (backcountry) or friggin killington for park
loon and waterville are about 2 hours, theres a bunch of tiny ones right there like nashoba and wachusett, i wanna say like 3 1/2 hours to snow, stratton, okemo, killy area, prolly 4 hours to jay peak and stowe, 1 1/2-2ish to sunday river
i live 10-15 minutes from wachusett and it takes me about 1 1/2 hours to get to boston.
theres also a train from boston, and wachusett will pick you up at the train station and bus you to the mountain, im not sure if thats legit/how much it costs, but i can find out if you want.
Wachusett is about an hour depending on how fast you drive from Boston. If you're looking for something more legit Loon is solid, Waterville Valley, Mount Snow, Sunday River, Jay Peak, Killington, there are tons of mountains in New England.
that would obviously be a problem. Someone above mentioned that you can take a train to Wawa. Also there is a very good chance of there being a snow sports club at BC that will take you to mountain.
Wachusett is the easiest to boston. check this out!!!!!! >> http://www.wachusett.com/TheMountain/DirectionsHours/SkiTraintoWachusett/tabid/66/Default.aspx
while those mountains are good, jay is four hours from boston, sunday river is about 3, killy is probably pretty far as well. it's worth it for like, a weekend, but not for a day trip.
ive been through and around every city in the northeast and boston is BY far the best of em all. Sure, its not too close, but I will prob end up there someday. It is an awesome place to just live.....maybe not live and ski, but SLC sucks to live in compared to Boston.....dont argue this with me. Move to Boston for the lifestyle from the city.....skiing use ur passion to get there.
