Study Abroad Rome...Where to Ski?

So im over in Rome doing a study abroad program with Temple University.  Ive been trying to find people who know how to ski or that want to make a trip to the Italian or Swiss alps.  Do you guys have and recommendations on where to go/stay/get ski equipment.  unfortunately i was not able to bring any of my equipment with me other than goggles and a jacket so i will have to rent or demo.  I would like to rent somewhat decent skies.  Anyone out there also in Rome that speaks English that could show me around the Italian ski scene haha?

Im not really familiar with the italian alps but you'd obviously want to go towards the alps/dolomites since they're the closest to rome.
Also when renting skis you're lucky; freeride and freestyle skis are just starting to boom in the european skiresort; any decent skicenter should be able to offer you a wide assortment to rent....

one of the italian resorts i've always dreamed about was courmayeur.
But on the other hands the alps aint that big so if there's any resort in the alps you've always wanted to ski; go there now!
La grave and serre Chevalier are well known for freeride
and for freestyle you have Laax, L2A, saas fee, recently kronplatz (ita) had a really nice park but it's a shitty hill..., tux, etc.....

sorry i'm no more help for the italian alps; i allways have to drive a whole day to get to the alps and wether you drive 10h or 12h doesn't make a really big deal so i end up in different places every time i go...

Has anyone ever been on the euroadventures trip to Interlocken?  Is that a good trip/deal...im thinking bout taking a trip over thanksgiving to interlocken but i dont know much about it....

its called interlaken and for as far as i know its just a city like any other.
if you like cities, go look around and get a taste of it.
otherwise interlaken is close to grindelwald and grindelwald = climbers paradise (and also skiers if im not mistaking...)

Italian alps are pretty dope!

glacier park: Val Senales (don;t know when the park opens again, maybe its already open? no crowds, nobody knows about it)

Seiseralm has a nice park, and last year Kronplatz had the best jumps I've ridden all year.

so yeah, go out and ski!

20km i believe, but i have no idea how the resort is, all i know is that its really famous within the climbing community....

so if you wanna go ski there; i have no idea about the park, if there even is a park...
freeriding wont be a problem i think since its full of climbers, you'll easily hook up with some skiguides....

check that:

i think that its within an hour from rome. not in the alps though.
its supposed to be pretty good with a couple of bigger tables, rails and a pipe.
it takes you at least 5 or 6 hours to get into the alps and it also costs a rather large amount of money because you have to pay to use italian motorways.

Hei.. I live in Florence and go to Abetone for the all winter season. If you want to ski near Rome there're some nice places in appennino like roccaraso, ovindoli, campo imperatore ecc. Take a look to http://www.appenninobianco.it/index.shtml for resorts and to http://www.snowpark.it/ for snowparks

The italian freeski scene is so small and twin tips there're almost in alps. I started freestyle this winter and in only one season i'm the best rail skier in my resort....  well if you want to come to Abetone or Cimone (tuscany) there're 2 nice parks but nothing compared to Us terrains!

If you want to go to alps the best place in Italy is Livigno
