Here i am first year university having a horrible time my room mate is fucked and i havent met one chill kid I spent my whole life being cool and partying with frineds but now here I am a loner spending days in silence getting drunk with ppl i dont like and ending up alone hate all you want but i am stuck in a place as gay as fuckin aids and am gettin depressed as shit i just gott make it till christmas please lay off the hate and dont ban me for my title i pretty mcuh just got bombed alone peace newschoolers thanks for a place to vent

Where are you going to college? I'm in the same situation as you being a freshman in college BUT you may hate me for this but just have fun. You'll meet more people if your happy no one likes hanging out with someone who is depressed, if all else fails just go sit in the cafeteria with someone who is sitting alone.

how big is your school? i went from a small ass high school to a state uni and it was hard to meet chill kids at first but just get out there and do shit you like to do and you'll start running into the same type of kids. dont sit in your dorm all the time either its a fucking downer to be stuck in such a small room get out and run or bike or longboard or whatever you like doing

give it some time...go different places, join different things, get out of your element a bit...dont just be exposed to the people who live down the hall from you.  Everyone is new and pretends to be friends with the people close to them until they find the people they actually like and relate to

How about you actually just study and do what your are supposed to do in school? There is more to school then partying, it's kinda sad that you are getting drunk just to get drunk even if you are by you're by yourself. You should really seek help IMO

Just talk to mad people in class. That really sounds like the only un-awkward way of meeting people now. As long as it's the first month of school you should be able to strike up conversations in class. If the people like you they'll start asking about the parties you go to, what you do socially, etc. Just be honest and say that you came to school not knowing anyone and haven't really found a group of people to party/hang out with. If the people are cool they should completely understand.

You've got like the first week of freshman year to make friends wherever you go. From then on things go right back to being cliquey. At least that's what I noticed last year. I'm not gonna lie I was insanely lucky to meet the people I met who've become my best friends at school.

Hope this helped. Just be open to meeting whoever. You'll find a cool group of people eventually.

i felt the same way.  i wanted to move home after my first year of college, but each year it will get better, i promise.  people told me the same thing and i didnt believe them but it was true.  you'll start seeing people you recognize in classes.  i didnt like my roommate or the people he hung out with, but now were great friends.  you'll get more adventurous and join things and meet cool people.  i joined ski club here.  best thing i ever did
