9/11 rememberance

I had family and friends that died 8 years ago today.
I remember it very well.
I was coming home from school when my dad told me and I was very confused, but it grew on me everyday.

My sister was in the WTC visiting on Sept 9th 2001..... i feel pretty lucky, so does she....   I never got to visit them - but I can't imagine what it must of been like for the poor souls in there two days later.

I remember 6th grade and hearing about it, but history class was last period so I had to wait a whole day to see anything on it, and then a few months later I remember my dad telling me hes getting deployed to Iraq

My uncle had missed the train to get into NYC on time, causing him to just miss being killed in the 1st tower crash. luck.

I remember i was sitting in my 6th grade tech ed class that morning, and this girl mentioned something about the significance of the date September 11th (911) and she said how there was supposed to be increased security or something of that nature. 2 hours later I heard the news and was more shocked at her statement, than what had actually happened. I remember going home and smelling burnt cookies because my mom dropped what she was doing and just stood there watching the news. Over the next few days it all sank in though.

RIP.

I remember waking up that morning and calling my dad at work to remind him to purchase my ticket and my friends ticket to head to Europe to visit my best friend that left the night before out of Boston. He said "turn the TV on and let me know if you still want to go". Ten minutes later the second plane hit.  I went to work at noon and we all sat in the conference room watching what was going on.  One of my friends and his father were doing construction/renovations on the part of the pentagon that got hit. After a few days of not hearing from him, he finally called us to let us know that they didnt go in that day so they were lucky.

I lost 343 brother firemen.  Many of the guys i work with have that number tatted on them for a reason. ++vibes to anyone effected.

I remember my neighbors told me what happened as I walked to the bus stop in 7th grade, it just didn't make sense.

Nothing pisses me off more than thinking about the senseless killing that occurred that day. It makes me ashamed to be a human when I think  about how a few people could do that to so many other people.

i remember i was in 3rd grade that year, and i remember having show n tell and my teacher worried when the announcement came over the speaker, her daughter works on the tenth floor of the first building that went down, luckily she was getting breakfast down a ways at the time. it was a confusing day for me and probably many people, its so wierd that i remember wat was going one at tht exact time off day

i was in fourth grade but i remember that days events very clearly. I remember it very well. I was fortunate not to lose anybody close in my life, but I know many that did. God bless the families and the city of NY.

My dad is an Airline Pilot for Continental and was flying out of Newark Liberty International that day cause thats were he's based. He said that he was taxing on the run way right behind flight 93 and saw the towers on fire. He thought it was an air conditioning fire and had no idea about the attacks. I was in the fourth grade so i didn't quite understand but I still to this day remember it, i was real scared cause I heard a flight was hijacked out of Newark but didnt no what airline. Rest in Peace to all the victims and huge vibes to all there family members. May this day always be remembered.

This the gate that flight 93 was at that morning, and there is now a flag over it. I fly out of Liberty Intl. alot so when ever i pass this gate Im always reminded of that day

I had just gotten home, and was wondering why my cousins wernt there yet. I lived in CT, and they were visiting from NY,NY. They got stuck when they shut the roads down.

I remember walking through Grand Central Station, and seeing Ground Zero a bit later, with all the missing posters, people, and workers. It was so intense.

i was in 5th grade
played soccer on the 10th and went to the hospital the morning of the 11th (18hours later) because i broke my arm playing soccer but didn't really know that it was broken.
so i was in the waiting room and i was watching the tv and everyone came into the room and were in shock about the whole situation and i didn't know what was happening. but i did watch the planes go into the buildings


so mad vibes to everyone who was effected by this event

yeah, its pretty wierd. I remember we had the weather channel on the tv before I left for school and they showed the WTC and said what a beautiful day it was in new york. I then got some tea and used a coffee cup that had a drawing of the twin towers on it. really wierd coincidences, but ill never forget them.

RIP I remember asking my mom what movie she was watching when I came downstairs and saw the tv.  All the kids at school thought terrorists were going to crash a plane into our Jr High.

i was seven living in england when this happened. i was sick and watching the news cause there was nothing on then the newsreader said she was getting breaking news through her headphones that the world trade center had been hit. its all i really remember.

wow i feel old, i was a freshman at UVM, second week of school away from home, it was alittle scary hearing people talking about war and a draft at the time.  my "favorite" story about 9/11 come from seth McFarlene. I saw him on this show once called Table for Five or something. Which was a weird show on the IFC and they put all these celebs together to have dinner. It was like him and Tony Hawk and some other people I’d never heard of. During the dinner Seth drank about 3 glasses of whiskey on the rocks (it was a half hour long show). One of the other guest’s made a remark about his “alcoholic intake” and said something about the bizz’s knowledge of him being a drunk. So, Seth gets all serious. And he goes, I was supposed to be on the plane that crashed into the twin towers on Sept. 11. I missed my flight because I was so hungover/drunk from the night before. And he goes in the most serious manner, “Alcohol saved my life, I will never give it up.” Everyone at the table was silent.

Holy shit this is totally inappropriate but I lol'd so hard.  I almost got blown up on the plane that made it illegal to bring liquids on planes anymore though, would have had a 50/50 chance if they didn't get caught, so there you go.  Could happen to anyone.

i actually dont remember anything the day this happened, i was in grade 1 or 2 maybe? i dont know how u guys remember this stuff... i remember watching teletoon when i was a kid thats all, then eventually i learned about it in grade 4

i was in first grade and i came down before school and my dad was listening to the radio and told me. it was scary to because my uncle was working in a building across the street and know one knew where he was for 8 hours.

RIP

and one of my friends mom, who just moved to my school, was 5 minutes away from entering when it happened.  she was so lucky.  she lost like all her friends and everything.  she has to still go to theorapy. But she had to move away from new york just becuase it reminded her to much about it.

i was four and didn't really know what happened but my dad just said two towers got hit by planes and my neoghbor was in them.

one of the scariest days of my life. sitting in my 5th grade classroom and the teacher ran to the windows and locked them all. announcement, no recess. scary shit for a 10 year old. then i get home to my dad (nys trooper) loading his car and having tears in his eyes. he left and told me to be the man of the house. so scary not knowing what else was going to happen that day. wow.

Obviously you don't have anybody close to you who died in the attack. So shut the fuck up.

How would you feel if your dad died in an instant, and right there, you lose your father? I'm not saying that this happened to me, but I have a good friend who's in this position.

If you think you're "funny" by making jokes out of the attacks, and about someone's uncle who died, you're not. You are just being really mean, and ignorant.

i will never forget that day. my dad died. i was 7 years old and i had no idea what was happening. i didn't believe it when my mom told me what happened. that day my dads friend had cancer surgery that he survived after my dad bought 2 copies of lance armstrongs autobiography and read it with him.
