9/11 rememberance

I had family and friends that died 8 years ago today.
I remember it very well.
I was coming home from school when my dad told me and I was very confused, but it grew on me everyday.

damn dude sorry to hear that and RIP for them all.

i can remember exactly where i was when i heard about it.  i was in the 4th grade and when i got home my dad was watching it on the news.  i was a little young to understand what had happened, but over the next few days or weeks it had actually hit me on what had happened.  I also remember that i was acually one of the first to find out that saddam hussein had been captured.  i was on the gondola at my mountain and one of the guys that was in the group had called his girlfriend 10 minutes after.  and his girlfriend was in the gondola with me.

its weird how when major events or tradgedys happen we alwasy remember clear as day the exact location that we were in.

yeah, there's a name for that.  some psychological phenomenon, but i don't remember it right now.  someone help me out.

its still close enough...  i have plenty of jokes ive heard and seen relating to slavery, 9/11, the holocaust, vietnam, and other thing and i choose not to say them cause they arent funny and can be offensive.

Ya man my friends dad died in tower 1 and my dad barely got out, it was really rough cause we couldnt get in contact with my dad for 6 hours after it happened and i remember it like it was yesterday. I dont ever want to see my mom in that condition ever again.

RIP.

It is kind of funny how stuff like this stands out. I was reading an article on CNN today after class and it noted how significant events have a huge impact on people (sensory imagery etc.) I remember ever smell, person, class specific time, how old, what the morning was life, what I had for breakfast that morning. It is almost bizarre.

So scary, I remember one of my friends dad was a pilot for united and the flight that left Logan he was supposed to be scheduled for but just a few days before he decided to take some days off to do something. The plane he was supposed to pilot slammed into one of the towers. Talk about a stroke of luck. He feels really guilty about the guy that took his place though. He even found out who he was and gave his family a bunch of stuff and covered the funeral.

I was living in Germany, watching the Today show (only one channel) before swim practice and as I was about to walk out the door Matt Lauer changed my life.  I watched the whole thing live start to finish.

Sure doesn't seem like 8 years ago. I had a couple relatives who were in the Pentagon that day, but they were fortunate enough to get out unharmed. I just can't believe it was almost half my life ago.

a lot of kids in my school lost family members there. its still sad to look at an overhead picture of Manhattan and feel like somethings missing

i was in second grade, we all sat in a circle and our techer told us two planes hit buildings, then went over parents who were flying that day, and they were all alright. my friends mom was supposed to be on flight 93 but missed it, i think. may all those who perished rest in peace, and may their families hold strong

I have a good friend who lost his dad in 9/11, and to top that off my dad's good friend died of cancer today. Very upsetting start to the day.

I remember it pretty well because it was exactly a week before i left to the UAE, i watched it on tv pretty shocked and didnt want to fly the next week, especially as is was to an arab country.

My dad was also meant to land in newyork that day from dubai, he got as far a germany when he got told to land straight away.
