Survey for class: Thoughts on smoking

for sociology i'm suppose to go survey a bunch of people in real life.. however, I would much rather see what people here say.

I can make up any question I want to survey people.

My question is: "What are your thoughts on smoking?"

answer it in any way you wish, it isn't specific to just tobacco. Whatever smoking comes to your mind. Speak up.

Im 19.

Ciggerattes-I dont smoke and dont really like it. But I have always thought to each his own. Because all of my friends and I mean all of them smoke.

Weed- I do smoke pot and enjoy it responsibly. I smoke a couple times a month, and when I get high, I GET HIGH. Thats the best wway to do it. Smoking too much can be a bad thing, but in moderation it is good.

Cigarettes are a weird thing to me. I always crave one, and then I smoke one and remember why I dont smoke. So I just have a pack of nat shermans in my car for whenever I get the itch, one puff and its out the window. (nat shermans are actually pretty good, and zero additives or chemicals)

cigars I love, they are like the wine of tobacco, most of them are made with great pride and care.

it kills me when people say weed isnt addicting and cigars arent bad for you.

1. what i guess im saying is weed isnt addicting but the 'positive' side effects you get from it are

2. cigars are just as bad for you as cigs dickwads. 'but you dont inhale them!'...ok so then you are more likley to get oral cancer...YAH FOR NOT HAVING A BOTTOM JAW!

for the record. i have smoked both weed and cigars several times, i dont pretend that they arent bad for me, and i think that weed is ALRIGHT, but very overpriced and very over-stoked because i could do much more with 10 bucks. (i dont know what it is but weed doesnt seem to effect me as greatly as other)

id rather just get drunk.....

alright. so i'm 19 now, and i started smoking the summer from 6th-7th grade. so like 12 years old. for the first few years it was always a thing to do when we would sleep over at peoples houses. like go into the woods. get high and then eat some twinkes.
then i got to high school. and well lets just say we all started to expiriment with when we were high. before school, after school, morning and night.
well this was all great and fun.
cigs were kinda always around, but more of a social thing.
although now i smoke cigs cuz i'm on probation, which kinda sucks.
remember kids don't get caught.

Cigarettes: I've been smoking cigs for like a year and half now. I like them but I'm going to quit. It's just a bad habit. I don't see anything wrong with people that smoke them or anything, I just don't like them anymore.

Weed: Is great. Everyone should try it atleast once. Opens a whole new world. Tieing this into cigarettes, I've found that if I just smoke bud I get a cool buzz and love it but if I smoke cigarettes after I blaze I feel like shit and get a weird/bad buzz.

Cigars: Strawberry Phillies ftw.

i am 18 and from southren bc i smoke weed about 3 to 7 times daily. i love tha shit and as long as you are compelled to keep active its all good. you gotta roll fat splifs for best of the smokin worlds. just teeback is gnarly.

when i think of smoking, i think or crack. i have been smoking rocks since i was 16. i could probably stop if i wanted to, but i would rather not. its fun to do and it feels good. its drugs like crystal meth and heroin that give safe drugs like cocaine and weed a bad name. they should legalize cocaine along with weed and stop spending millions of dollars on jail cells for drug dealers and addicts.

also, i am 20 years old.

fuck nicotine in general, i dont smoke cigs and never have but picked up the bad habbit of chewing tobacco, i went through a few years where i would chew a can a day. addicting and pointless. i am trying to quit now and it is very hard.

herb on the other hand is fine i think if you can control yourself, i have went through phases where i have smoked way too much and that is not good. just have to get to a point where you are in control, and im 20

i started smoking cigarettes at about 14 or 15 and just recently quit (28). They're absolutely terrible for you, but I love them so much. I definitely still get a craving for them every now and again.

I started puffin' at 14 & have been going strong pretty much the entire time. I think that adding that to ripping down the mountain while jammin to tunes, or throwin' down behind a boat, just makes the experience sooo much better. Puts me in the zone. I can't say that it has ever negatively impacted me. I went to college, had a 3.93 in grad school, and now have a professional career. Someday society will open it's eyes.

Cigs- Gross as fuck and a horrible turn off but I don't care if my friends smoke or anything.

Weed- Good times and relieves stress but people who only talk about smoking weed are kinda annoying sometimes.

Hookah- Super chill and fun to just smoke it and chill

Cigars- Baller

Crack- All the cool kids are doing it.

I don't know if it matters or not, but by asking newschoolers you are bound to get a very biased answer because from what I've observed the majority of people on here smoke whether it be weed, cigarettes or something else

I am 18.  I personally do not like cigarettes.  I hate them.  They are disgusting.  I have no problem with people smoking cigars or special occasions but every day is probably too much.  Smoking and sort of illicit drug can be bad, but I see nothing wrong with weed.  Everyone does it, and it is not that harmful. As long as it is used in moderation and does not fuck someone's life up, there is no problem.

smoking tobacco: I don't mind cigars and hookah, because they're not very addictive and don't have HIDDEN additives. I don't smoke those much at all.

I don't mind clove cigs (i don't smoke them), because the people that i know who smoke them aren't habitual smokers. However, regular cigs smell like shit and people smoke them way too much. They also kill you, so i dont really like that.

weed: Medicine. Has helped my depression, anxiety and is fun, so fuck off. It also isn't addictive. I've stopped smoking weed for months on end without a second thought, so fuck off. (fuck off=to the feds)

anything else

salvia: trippy shit, i dont care if anyone does it, as long as it's not more than once a week it's legit. I havent done it since i was 16

weed: been blazin for about a solid year now.  Shits so dope. you always have a good time and it just puts you in a better place. Makes you think in different abstract ways.  As long as you stay active with it there's no problem at all.

Cigs: grossest things ever. never tried one and never do want to try them.

weed.. fuckin awesome..i think it's been said/explained enough in this thread.

people who hate on cigarettes but smoke weed are fucking hilarious in my opinion.

I always wanted to smoke since I was a little kid.  I remember the scene in Independance Day where they light a cigar up after blowing up the alien mothership, thinking that I would probably smoke when I grew up.

Most people say they have to learn to like cigarettes, but I loved the taste immediately.  I actually smoked for about a month without even inhaling, just for the flavor.  I managed to only smoke a couple a day for like almost a year, but then got up to two packs a day, then switched to rollies and got back down to about 10 a day, now I'm back to regular smokes and doing about a pack a day.

Also you know, it makes you cooler by default, so thats a big perk.

yeah i'm not really a salvia fan.
i've done it four times but it only worked twice.

the trips are pretty cool but they're really intense and you are an idiot for like 30 minutes after.

also, my friend took a drug test after doing salvia and it showed up positive for opiates and amphetamines.

Salvia is gnarley, I don't really like doing it because it makes me sweat, and I feel like I'm aware of all of my individual pores and it makes me uncomfortable.  It will certainly be illegal in 10 years, shit is more gnarley than LSD.

Also, I find it interesting how many people think cigars are ok and cigarettes are the devil, but if you go to say, a casino, nobody cares if you smoke, but if you have a cigar people get right pissed off.

Why is a small stick of tobacco terrible and a huge stick of tobacco fine?  Because you are all 15 and associate cigars with black and milds as opposed to real cigars?  Or are you all just retarded?

I think it's cuz 1. One doesn't inhale cigar smoke and 2. One doesn't smoke a pack of cigars a day. Plus they generally have less nasty chemicals than cigs. People don't like em in casinos cuz you either love or hate the smell. Some people think they smell like ass, others love it

cigarettes are fine with me, I use to smoke em but then I figured that I'd rather kill myself doing something exciting like skiing. people should be able to do anything to their own bodies anywhere they want. Laws that tell restaurant owners and bar owners that their customers can't smoke inside are absolute bullshit IMO. N all this hate on cigarette companies is partially justified but in their defense, does anyone really not know the consequences of smoking anymore.
