so i am currently looking at a seventy eight monte carlo, what do you guys think? or does anyone have a similar car with any advice? i really am just not sure... please help

If youre not sure, dont buy it. Personally I would get an older model such as the early 70s, before the they were required to have a cat(which was in 1975). The older years are worth more and built a little better. The engines also were built better and had better compression and power. If youre gonna guzzle gas you might as well get some power out of it, and you wont with the later models.

This is all coming from the purely muscle car standpoint though.

where is grove street?

and the 78 has a 383 stroker so it has a better engine than a stock 78

Haha thats a new story then. 383 stroker= 350 block bored .03 over with a 400 crank. I would go for it then since it aint stock like i thought it was. Thats a hot little street engine. What condition is the car.?
